SUMMARY: After they had missed yet another breakfast Steven decides to bring lunch to Riley’s room and check in on them.
Steven eyed the clock and a worried expression passed over his face, it was almost lunchtime and he hadn't seen or talked to Riley since they moved their things into one of the bedrooms yesterday. Normally, Steve would have shrugged his shoulders and carried on with his day. He sometimes missed a meal or two, so who was he to judge someone if they did the same. But Riley was still recovering from surgery and was on painkillers so they needed to have some food in them. Steven decided to pile some sandwiches on top of a plate, added two glasses of freshly squeezed orange juice, a thermos with coffee and a bottle of milk on the tray and made his way to Riley's room. He used his elbow to knock on the door. "Sleeping beauty, you up already," he joked, hoping the other would open the door for him.
Notes: The rescue mission is in full swing as a battle between the hunters and the ladies continues. All the while the captured trio are rescued.
Riley turned back towards the barn when she heard Alex scream and rushed inside. Thankfully Nina had already reacted and took down the hunter that nearly got Alex. She walked over to Nina and looked at the hunter being suffocated to death. She didn’t feel an ounce of pity for him. “Not so fun now, huh?” she asked the hunter before walking toward the other hunter Nina had knocked out to make sure he didn’t try to get up and pull the same stunt.
Alex watched out of the corner of her eye as Nina killed the hunter that was going to attack her as she made her way over to the three. Going to Vivian first since she was the closest to her and she pulled the knife out of her pocket before starting to work at the ropes. “Are you guys okay?” Alex asked as she moved behind Vivian’s chair and started working at the ropes on that were binding her hands. Applying more weight as she moved the knife back and forth to try and make this go quicker, the ropes started to give. When they finally snapped and realized Vivian’s hands Alex moved onto the next.
The flashbang did it’s job on the hunters, while also somewhat disoriented Vivian in the process. But the moment Alex walked through the door, she sighed in relief. “Yeah we’re fine. We’ll be fine.” Vivian’s response was somewhat muffled by the swollen lip she was now sporting, but it really didn’t matter. As soon as her hands were free, she reached down to untie her legs. Once they had been released, she stood up and took a tentative step, but pain instantly shot through her leg and forced her back down on the chair. “Son of a bitch!”
Nina kicked his lifeless corpse for good measure, making sure he was, in fact, dead. Once she was sure he wouldn’t be coming back to attack anyone else, she hated towards the others. She watched as Vivian stood, but sat back down. She rushed over to see if she was okay. “Is there anything I can do? Just tell me how I can help you, Vivian,” she said, now that the fight was quiet inside.
Riley walked over to join everyone. “Everyone in one piece?” she asked as she approached. She focused on Vivian. “How bad is it? I can’t exactly heal you but I can help you walk.”
Moving to Dylan next Alex noticed her shoulder. “I’m sorry but this is going to hurt like a bitch.” Putting the knife to the rope as she started to work on it more, she quickly moved it trying her best to not further injure Dylan. Finally getting the ropes undone and she pulled them off Dylan’s wrists before moving to Oliver so she could get his ropes off.
Dylan: Dylan was laser focused on the one remaining hunter that was unconscious but still breathing - albeit with trouble as it was the one Oliver had headbutted. “It’s fine Alex. I’m glad to see you,” she told her sister as she felt the bonds fall from her wrists. She rubbed at them then untied her legs and stood, wobbled her first couple of steps and steadied as she went toward the man on the floor. She waited for magic that didn’t come, but she didn’t care. She was determined to break his neck if that’s what needed to be done. “Too bad he’s not going to be awake to see it coming,” she muttered, lips pulled back into a sneer and eyes blazing with unrivaled hatred as she neared him.
“Yeah I’m alright. I…help walking will be nice. We can worry about actual healing later. I just want to get out of here.” She started to stand again when she noticed Dylan stalking toward the last hunter. Vivian knew exactly what Dylan had in mind and she took a wobbly step forward. They needed this one alive. He might be able to help them find Morgan if Tess couldn’t do it. If anything he’d be able to give them more information about the hunters in general. “Dylan, wait! We can’t kill him! We have to take him back so we can get information from him.”
Nina planned to help Riley with Vivian before she saw the two interact. With the commotion going on about saving one of the hunters, she noticed from the corner of her eye another holding his head, but making his way into the barn. She pushed him up against the nearest wall. The air holding him there. “Who wants him? I think one of you deserves to take a crack at him.” And she hoped it’d be Dylan because that’d be fucking hot to see, but if no one took him out, she’d happily do the honors.
Riley: Riley held onto Vivian when she stood up and took a step towards Dylan, making sure the other woman wouldn’t fall over. “Vivian has a point, Dyl. I kinda wanna know what’s up with the whole snatching bullshit.” She looked at Nina and the hunter. “Kill that one instead Dyl, he’s obviously a little too dense to interrogate if he seriously thought it was a good idea to waltz in here.”
Alex noticed Oliver’s shoulder and she frowned for a second before she started to work at his ropes, she tried to be as gentle as possible. Using the knife to cut enough of the rope away, she started to use her hands at that point to get him untied. Not caring a bit if it knocked out her magic, she just wanted to get him untied. “Here.” Handing the knife to Dylan as she finished getting Oliver’s hands untied, she stood up. She walked around so she was facing Oliver, she looked down at his feet. “Do you need me to help or do you have it?”
At the sound of the door Oliver looked up from the guy he had just headbutted to see Alex, he felt both relieved to confirm that she was well and worried that she hadn’t called, Paladins or Wards hell even guards and was instead doing the rescue herself, putting herself in harms ways. He struggled against his restraints as he watched the wards move towards her, when Alex dropped the flashbombs, he closed his eyes and tried to use his ears to keep up with what was happening as his sight adjusted. He was trying to keep himself straight but the pain on his shoulder after being strained like that for so long hept him leaning on his side, he tried not to grunt or complain too much as Alex cut the ropes, wincing and groaning as his arm returned to its natural position. “Alex.” He breathed out nodding for her to help him as he untied his foot with his good arm, once he was free he stood up and wrapped his arm around her while leaning into her for support as he regained his balance, his eyes moving around the room making sure besides them no one else was injured. “Thanks for coming.” He said smiling down at Alex.
Dylan turned her rage on Vivian for stopping her, barely hearing the rationale. Before she could make her displeasure be known, the other hunter stumbled in and Nina had him pinned like a particularly ugly specimen in a bug collection. “Fine. I’m killing that one.” She took the knife from Alex as she passed and stood in front of the hunter, now more aware of his situation and looking around frantically. “Should I gut you?” she asked, poking the tip of the knife into his belly. “No, that’s too good. Lift him up a bit, sweetheart, and hold his head for me,” she said, turning to Nina. The air witch obliged and Dylan waved a hand to stop her when the hunter’s feet were a few inches off the ground. His eyes widened in terror as he rose from the ground. “I don’t even need my magic for this. Believe me, it’s going to hurt you much, much more than it will me.” She drew the knife across his throat, ignoring the pulsing spurts of blood that rushed out. She did it again, and a third time, severing trachea, tendons and spine, until the body fell to the floor. The head stayed in place, the face twisted in shock. Kneeling she pulled off the protective vest and cut open the shirt with the knife, exposing his chest. She drew a line with forked lines at the bottom. Turned the other way, with the forks at the top, it was a rune of protection, one of the few she knew well. This way it was a warning. She cleaned the blade on the dead man’s shirt and stood. “Let’s get the fuck out of here.”
Vivian saw the rage in Dylan’s eyes and was about to argue when Dylan stopped and said she would kill the other one. “That works just fine for me. But this one stays alive.” She pointed to the other one before watching as Dylan killed the hunter that had just stumbled in. She folded her arms across her chest and arched an eyebrow when Dylan started to carve a rune into the now dead hunter’s chest. “The far left line isn’t long enough.” Dylan turned back to face her with a look that very clearly said 'Really?’ before rolling her eyes and adding a small portion to the line. “What? It has to be right otherwise it won’t mean the same thing.” With only one hunter left alive and their warning message taken care of, Vivian nodded tried to walk on her own before holding out her arm for help. “Yeah let’s go. I’m tired of this fucking place. I need some help walking and then someone will need to carry him out.”
Nina had obliged Dylan’s wishes, watching in awe as the woman expertly killed the hunter, leaving her with the floating head. Her stance on Dylan being the hot one was completely amplified even more, because that was the hottest thing she’d ever seen. She let the head fall then, hearing Vivian mention carrying the sole hunter. She watched as Dylan helped the woman walk. “I’ve got him. Resident air witch at your service.” Nina said, lifting the man with the air to carry him out of the barn as they left.
Riley: Riley squinted as she watched Dylan have at it with the other hunter. A bit more gruesome than she was expecting but she couldn’t say she blamed Dylan. Once they were set to go she headed out of the barn with everyone else.
Alex: Alex helped Oliver quickly get his feet untied and she sighed when he hugged her. Putting her mouth to his car for a moment as she wrapped her arms around his waist. “If you ever do this to me again I’ll murder you myself Norwood.” Looking at him with eyes warning him to test her before her face softened, she placed a peak against his lip. “You’re welcome though.” Keeping her arms around him as she turned to look at Dylan, she cringed at the blood rushing out. Looking down for a moment as she walked, she helped Oliver along the way. Looking back at Nina, she couldn’t help but wonder if she saw the events from earlier with whatever the hell was going on with her. Turning her head back as they walked out of the barn, she held tightly onto Oliver. “I think we could all use a drink after tonight.”
Oliver: Oliver watched as Dylan killed the hunter and carved a rune on his chest, he was so glad this was all over, there was nothing more he wanted but get healed, get his magic back, take a shower and be with Alex just being glad they had survived, for a moment he had thought he wouldn’t be able to see her again, the relief he felt had him reaching for Alex’s hands with his uninjured arm as they walked out. As Everyone walked out he rushed to his truck opening the latch so Nina could lay the hunter on the bed of his truck. He saw movement out of the corner of his eyes and looked up just in time to watch a car passby, the guy at the wheel was dressed like the hunters but it was the woman that caught his attention, it couldn’t be… Could it? No, he could hardly remember what she looked like… not by memory at least but the moment his eyes laid on the woman in the car it was… “Mom?” He said to himself even though for years whenever he had been forcing of talking about her he had only referred to her as mother or she/her, he was still to shocked to even realize what he was doing but his feet we already moving, taking one step, then another and another after the car, picking up in speed.
Dylan: Dylan had an arm around Vivian’s waist helping support her as they walked to the truck. As she helped Vivian into the back seat, she heard Oliver say something and start toward the road as if in a trance. “Oliver?” she called after him. When he didn’t respond she went after him pulling on his arm. “Come on, we have to go before more come. Let’s go.” She kept pulling but it was no use. She still didn’t have her magic, so she turned to Nina. “Nina, I need a hand here.”
Nina eased the hunter into the bed of Oliver’s truck. She wanted to flat out drop him hard, but she didn’t want to risk him waking. She was tired and she didn’t know if she had that much air magic left in her after she’d given it all she had multiple times to defeat these hunters. Just as she’d let the hunter down, yet again fuckery was afoot. She heard Oliver call out to his mother. She saw him moving toward the car and picking up speed. All it took was Dylan telling her to give her a hand and she was on it. She concentrated, quickly dropping the atmospheric pressure around him so that he couldn’t breathe. She knew that he would pass out quickly. When she watched him fall, she floated him back to the truck so that he could join the hunter taking his little nap as well. She was ready to get the hell out of there.
Notes: The girls charge into the belly of the beast to save their friends and loved ones. (Part 1)
Nina lived for this moment. It was as if a switch had flipped within her. There was nothing but the lethal side that she fought so hard against as of late. Kill was all that was on her mind. If they weren’t with her on her side, then they were against her and they were free game. On the count of three, she was poised and ready. The potions floated in the air in front of her hands. She took a deep breath, and she pushed the potions to their designated areas all around the hunters. Very quickly and the atmospheric pressure began to drop around them, keeping an eye on where Alex was so that she wouldn’t be affected by the air pressure, and she was ready to make someone pay. And pay they would, she thought as she stalked forward.
Riley followed Alex, observing the area ahead of them. All it would take was a quick, unexpected ground shake to knock those guards off their feet. They had the element of surprise on their side, so she was fully confident that the three of them could do this. She let Nina use her air to throw the potions, then waited for the hunters to react accordingly before creating a mini quake that left the hunters on the floor. She stayed close to Nina as they advanced forward, scanning around quickly to make sure there wouldn’t be any more hunters to catch them by surprise.
Alex took off behind the girls as they began their element of attack, she started to grab the hunters necklaces. Yanking them roughly as she held onto them for a moment, when she ripped the second necklace off she went for the third, but she noticed him running with the blonde woman in the other direction. Not bothering to try and chase them Alex tossed the necklaces as far as she could away, she opened the door to the barn, seeing the three sitting in the middle of the room. Alex noticed the guards coming towards her and she dropped the last few of the flashbombs she had giving her just enough time to repeat the same action she had outside. Dropping the necklaces on the floor and she kicked them out of the way as she took off towards the three.
Once the necklaces were off they were completely fair game. Nina’s smile was practically wicked as one of the hunters came for her. For a minute she stood there, practically taunting him. But as soon as he tried to make a move, she lifted off into the air, her hands seemingly forming around nothing but in her hands air seemed almost tangible. She blasted the hunter back with such a force he would be knocked unconscious when he hit the ground. She actually chuckled as she quickly followed Alex inside to cover her. She tossed a glance back to make sure Riley was good outside, but without a doubt she knew that she would be. Oh she was completely in her element right now. She drew the guards away from Alex, using telekinesis to quickly snatch their weapons. They clattered to the ground far out of their reach, but it wasn’t as if either of them were having the best time breathing as she started to take one’s breath, and blast the other against a wall, seemingly knocking him out. The other falling to the floor, passed out from lack of oxygen. “We’ve got a few minutes. They’re unconscious, hurry,” she said as she kept an eye outside to make sure Riley was still holding her own.
Riley let Nina do her thing as she knocked out one of the hunters outside the building. For the second hunter, she lifted a nearby rock and threw it right at his head, the impact knocking him out cold. When she saw another one running off with the woman, she made another quake that made them trip once more. She got distracted when Alex opened the barn door, but Nina had acted fast and knocked the other guards out. She grinned. “Damn girl, leave some fun for the others,” she teased before she turned back towards the hunter and blonde woman. Who ran into the forest out of her reach. “Ah, shit.”
Alex ran towards the group but the feelings from those people overwhelmed her once more and she could feel the panic in their. Grabbing onto the table as it got overwhelming and she tried to push through it to reach the others. Letting go off the table as she went to take off towards them once more and she felt hands against her back. Before she could react she was shoved to the ground roughly and she heard a voice demanding she stay down. Rolling over Alex saw the hunter Nina thought she had knocked out coming towards her and the feelings started to overwhelm her once more. “Nina!” Alex screamed loudly. She scattered to make it towards the others while Nina finished off the hunter.
Nina tried to keep her eyes everywhere, making sure that no one was going to get hurt by these assholes, but as she watched Alex, she frowned. Why the hell was she stopping? Why was she on the ground! Nina’s mind was so engrossed with what the hell was going on with Alex that she forgot that they were knee deep in a battle with hunters. Her scream had shaken her from her thoughts and she quickly reacted, using the air to toss the man once more against the wall. But this time she stalked closer. This time she was mad. “When I put you down, you stay down. But this time, you’re going down permanently.” With each word she spoke she ripped the air from his lungs. It was slow, torturous, and she found so much joy as she watched the light leave his eyes.
Finn: wasn't for sure how this was going to work, with him being an ex-greaser per say and being around his family along with being around Quinn. He pulled to the school, knowing that it was going to be a long morning but at least he could go back at his dad's house and sleep since neither his dad or his dad's girlfriend was there. Once inside, he was thinking of ways to tackle this project. "Joy." He muttered to himself when he saw the cleaning supplies.
Notes: After following the hunters, Alex calls Riley and Nina to help her save Oliver, Dylan and Vivian.
Everything had been a blur since she’s watched the truck pull out of Vivian’s parents driveway, she’d known from the moment it left that two people she loved more than anything were in that truck. She wasn’t sure how long she’d been following for the moment, but here she was three cars away from them for the moment. The feelings still were overwhelming, but she pushed through as she drove. Realizing she couldn’t do this alone Alex reached down behind her and grabbed the cell phone she’d dropped. Looking down as she hesitated with pressing the call button for Riley, how was she going to break this to her. Realizing she couldn’t put it off anymore she hit dial and put the phone to her ear. “Riley–” Hearing her voice break as she said her sisters name. “I’m going to need some help. I know you’re at work, but this is about Dylan. So please–” Stopping once again as tears started to fall down her face. “Drop whatever you’re doing. Grab Nina and get on the road. I’ll send you my location just follow it.”
A night shift was always boring, which was how Riley was arm wrestling with a co-worker to pass the time. She had just finished winning three times in a row when she heard her phone rang. Alex. With a sigh, she told her co-worker she needed a minute and stepped away to answer. “What’s up Al–” She was interrupted by her sister requesting her help. The panic in her tone turned Riley serious. “Okay –” She turned to her co-worker and told her she needed to step out for a minute. She didn’t bother to answer any questions as she started walking away. “Alex, what’s going on?”
Alex pulled the phone away from her ear as she let out a scream of frustration, she hit the steering wheel with hand. Maybe all of this would have been different if she’d been inside with them, maybe she could have helped prevent all of this. Putting the phone back to hear as she used her sleeve to wipe some of the tears away. “Hunters showed up when we were at Vivian’s parents house. They attacked and they– they took them Riley. Dylan, Oliver, and Vivi.” Licking her bottom lip as she took in a deep breath and looked down for a moment. “Just please get Nina, get in your car, and get out here. We’re at least two hours away from school so you need to go now.”
"Fuck,“ was Riley’s initial reaction. Then it sunk it some more and she repeated it a little louder. "Fuck!” She began to walk faster towards the parking lot. “Alex, I don’t have Nina’s number. Call her and tell her to meet me at the front entrance. Like tell her to make like The Flash and dash her ass over there ASAP. I’m almost at my car. Call me back.”
“Okay. I’m calling right now.” Taking in a deep breath as she nodded carefully and she pressed the end button on her phone. Scrolling back through her contacts she clicked Nina’s name, then the call button. Waiting patiently for Nina to answer, as soon as she did Alex began talking over Nina. “Remember when we said we could always call on each other? I’m calling on you now.” Trying her best to not keep crying. “Meet my sister at the front gate she’ll explain everything. Just go as fast as you possibly can.” Hanging up the phone as soon as she finished speaking, she pressed the re-dial button for Riley. “She’s on her way.”
Nina had been lounging in her room, studying when she got the call from Alex. She was cheery when she answered but stopped talking immediately when she heard Alex continue to talk. The urgency in her voice, and something more made her heart race. Nina was already in motion as Alex spoke about calling on her. She slipped on her converses, figuring heels were a bad option here and she was already out the door. Nina didn’t run but rather flew at top speed to the front gate, landing right in front of Riley. “Alex said that she needed me and to meet you here? What’s happening? Whose ass am I kicking?” she asked.
After Alex hung up, Riley got in her car and sped to the front entrance. Even though not much time had passed, ever second Nina took to come to the entrance felt like hours. She had a sickness in her stomach, terrified of what could happen to Dylan, Oliver and Vivian. She answered Alex’s call. “Okay, we’ll be there in no time. Don’t do anything until we get there.” When Nina arrived, she opened the passenger car door. Now was the best time to have a sports car. “Get in,” she commanded. She waited for Nina to sit before she slammed the gas pedal and sped onto the road. “Dylan, Alex, Oliver, and Vivian were in Raleigh and got jumped by hunters,” she explained. “Alex is the only one who got away. They… took them.” It sounded weird coming off her lips. Took? She thought all they did was kill whatever witch they saw. “Anyway we’re gonna meet Alex over there and figure out what to do. But there’s gonna be plenty of ass kicking, that’s for damn sure.”
Nina quickly hopped into the car and buckled up. Every word sent her heart into her throat. “Hunters in Raleigh! And they have…oh fuck.” She knew that this couldn’t bode well for those that were kidnapped, but they were strong and they wouldn’t go down without a fight. They’d been taken…taken by hunters. Hunters were the one thing that she knew could cause a world of destruction. Nina couldn’t imagine what Alex was feeling right about now. “I thought they wanted to wipe us out? Not take people?” she asked, knowing Riley probably knew just as much as she did. “Either way, oh they’re going to pay and that’s a promise.” She idly had the thought that maybe she should just send her boyfriend an I love you just in case she didn’t return, but she shook the thought, not wanting to worry him. She’d kick ass and they’d get the people they cared about back she was sure.
“I don’t know, maybe it’s some sick fucking game they’re playing,” Riley said, shaking her head. She was so tired of these damn hunters. She had to focus on the road, so she did her best to suppress any thoughts about the possible worst outcomes of this whole incident. Nothing was going to happen to any of them. These hunters were going to eat shit. “Suffocate the shit out of them,” Riley told her. She couldn’t wait to bash their heads in with a boulder. She sped to Alex’s location as fast as she could. It was tricky to do so while avoiding state troopers but it definitely didn’t take them as long as two hours to get to Alex. She parked next to Alex’s car and got out, not hesitating to run to her sister and hug her. “Hey, are you okay? Did they hurt you?” she asked.
Alex had parked her car off to the side of the road and walked the rest of the way until she was close enough to see what was going on. It looked like there was a woman and two guards on the outside of the building, but she couldn’t honestly get enough of a look at them. Instead of wasting anymore time Alex hurried back to her car and unhooked her bracelet. Using the time she had to start creating different potions and looking for spells that would be useful during this. She also had started to draw out a rough plan of attack. Seeing Riley’s car pull up next to hers made Alex let out a sigh of relief, she hugged Riley as tight as possible. “I’m okay–” Wiping her eyes as she started to cry again. “I was the look out so I didn’t get to go inside. When the hunters showed up Oliver froze me in the car and I couldn’t get out. By the time I even could–” Stopping as she moved the hair out of her face. “It doesn’t matter. I have soft of a plan to run by you two and I have these.” Opening up the car door as she showed them the pile of potions she’d made and spells she’d marked in her book. “We probably don’t have a lot of time, but some of this might help us out.”
Nina’s plan was most definitely to suffocate the fuck out of those hunters. She grew quiet on the ride because she was mentally preparing herself to go back to a place that she hadn’t in a long time, an uncaring place where she would completely take a life or many if necessary. When they made it to Alex relief washed over her, as she hopped out of the car. She stood back to let the sisters have their moment until Alex started to explain. “What’s the plan? You have a psionic air witch at your service, and I can get those potions wherever you need them to go without lifting a finger. Whatever advantage we can get, we’ll need.” Her mind was already churning with attack plans the worse they were for them, the better they were for her.
Riley was relieved to hear that Alex was at least okay, but she still had another sister to save. She crossed her arms and nodded at pile of potions. It was probably best that Alex had a plan because all Riley wanted to do was rush in and beat the shit out of any hunter with overgrown plants. “Yeah, what you got?” she asked her sister.
“Okay so it’s like a barn or building type of thing I’m not sure, but you can see the entrance and there’s three people there. A woman and two guards, which there’s three of us and three of them. So realistically we should be able to take them.” Pulling the potions out of her car as the handed them to Nina and Riley to hold for the moment, she pulled out her spells the paper she had been working on. “Okay so here is what I got. If we flash bomb with these potions…” Stopping as she pulled one of them out of Riley’s hands. “They should be caught off guard and Riley you can go in with a mini earthquake that way we can get the upper hand and take them out if need be. When we get inside flash bombs one more time.” Picking out another potion as she put it in her pocket along with the other one. “At that point I’ll go in behind you two and start snatching necklaces from the hunter. I’d rather give up my magic and let you two fight it out with them. While you two work at the hunters I’ll go for Dylan, Vivian, and Oliver.” Turning to Riley once more as she held out her hand, Alexmade a give me motion. “In case I need magic I need to try and not touch the red clover as much as possible so give me the knife I know you’re holding.”
Nina nodded as Alex explained the plan. “I’ll drop the atmospheric pressure around them before they can even see me. And the potions are as good as gone! Just do your thing and I’ve got your back, Alex. Riley, I know you’re probably a force to be reckoned with, but I’ve got your back too.” This was a first, Nina actually fighting for other people and to save them, willing to go on a suicide mission to get back the people that Alex cared about. If she could help it, all of her training would go into this moment. This is what all of her horror stories were for, saving people.
Riley wasn’t sure what to expect hearing Alex’s plan, but a smirk formed on her face as Alex explained. “Nice going sis,” she praised, patting Alex on the shoulder. She pulled out the knife that Alex correctly assumed she had and handed it to her. “Alright, let’s get ready. Be quick but cautious. Let’s make these fuckers drop like flies.”
Alex nodded to Riley as she took the knife and she put it in her other jacket pocket for the moment. “That works.” Taking some of the potions that the girls wouldn’t need and she put them in her now empty pocket as she pulled out the flashbomb potions. “It’s just over here.” Walking towards where she had saw the building, she peered around the counter to see everyone still standing outside. “You ready?” Looking towards Nina and Riley. “On the count of three throw the potions then do your thing ladies. I’ll go for the door.”
Momoko walked up to the apartment building, wondering who her roommate was- who would suffer from rooming her, more like it. She really didn’t bother checking the announcement board, deciding to surprise herself. Leaving her bags in one of the rooms, Momoko plopped onto the couch and decided to take a nap, but as soon as she closed her eyes, she heard the doorbell ring. “Let yourself in.” she called out.
Lucien walked into Riley’s house, using the key he had to let himself in. He had been at work all day and the guys at the office had invited him out to the strip club, and Lucien, wanting to get in good so he could work his way up, agreed to go. Several drinks and lap dances later he was here, walking up to Riley’s room to check on her. He found her in her bedroom wearing almost nothing and putting on her make up. “Where are you going?” He asked, setting his suit coat on the back of the chair in her room, his eyes scanning the length of her body. She never failed to turn him on and now was no different.
Lucien had seen the news come across his television screen. Man shot. Former military. PTSD accident. And the Lucien heard the name and his heart sunk into his stomach. He had come back to town for Riley and when she broke up with him, he was heart broken but he had no right to ruin her happiness. Not again. And of all people, Josh was someone he could support being with her. He knew he wasn’t liked by the other man but Lucien still respected Josh and Riley being happy was far more important. He hadn’t liked Nate because the boy seemed more selfish than he could handle and while Lucien was selfish himself, he didn’t want Riley to fall into it again so he had been the bigger person and stepped away. Let Riley have her space but now it seemed she would need support and he wanted to be there for her. He grabbed his keys and headed over to Riley’s house, letting himself in. He searched the house and couldn’t find her anywhere so he decided to wait. She had to come home eventually.
