All throughout the week, Solbi had fretted over her recent discovery of her feelings for Mina. In such a long time, the librarian had avoided relationships like the plague, seeing as they’d always seemed to break down those close to her. She would’ve never thought that she herself would be a victim of love— although, she didn’t regret it at all. Mina was a wonderful woman. She never failed to be a sweetheart to Solbi, and she accepted her for whom she was. Many would find it boring, hanging around a ‘nerd’ like herself. But, Mina was always there for her, listening to her unusual rambles over a book she’d read, or when she had nightmares and needed someone to cling on and hold. She had always been different to Solbi… It was impossible for her not to have fallen for Mina. And if she held back much further, she felt like she was going to go insane. Thankfully, though, both women had agreed to meet each other at the local cafe, since both had the day off. She was the first one there, always a little early than the time they’d agreed upon. Her fingers delicately traced the handle of the cup of coffee she’d ordered, taking in a slow breath. She could do this. It wasn’t a difficult task...at least it shouldn’t b- Her thoughts were interrupted by the familiar sound of Mina’s voice, the blonde making her way over to Solbi with the brightest smile she’d ever seen. Before she had a chance to say anything else, Solbi gently cupped Mina’s cheek, feeling her heart skip a beat as she noticed how the other’s facial expression went from excited to serious. Her throat went dry, any coherent thought she’d had before disintegrated, and all she could do was act by instinct. Slowly, she leaned forward and pressed her lips shyly to Mina’s, letting her thumb lightly brush along her cheek. After a few beats passed, she pulled away, feeling like her face turned a few shades of red in that very moment. ❝ R-Remember when we were talking about...love and you asked if I liked someone? I answered yes and...I realized I didn’t tell you straightforward whom it was... ❞ She whispered, biting gently on her lower lip. ❝ Well...now it’s quite obvious...right? ❞
