There was a heatwave, which wasn’t unheard of in Seattle. After the COVID-19 fiasco, which was not over but way better with the kids back at school and the hospitals not overrun, it was nice, though. They had opened the pool for memorial day weekend, and had spent the past several days outside in the blissfully rain free Seattle weather. Now, it was back to work, and on a night shift no less, and she was not looking forward to it. After getting settled in and up to speed on what was happening, she heads for the attending’s lounge in search of coffee, and partially hoping to find some sort of baked good someone had brought in. Opening the door and heading in, Allie sees a once familiar brunette sitting at the table. Lexie. She knew she was back, had heard from Meredith and Derek...and she’d been avoiding her. She wasn’t just mad on Meredith and Derek’s behalf, she was mad on her own behalf. And rather than facing the confrontation, she’d avoided it--thus, avoided Lexie. But now here she was, right there, and it was too late to turn and leave, so she continues into the room, towards the coffee maker.
