Thanks for all the parallel skiing suggestions, folks!
I was a lot more careful putting on my boots this time around, which seemed to have helped. I think the main problem I'm having is that I'm letting my knees get far too stiff. So, I'm hurting them when I start a turn and at every bump. It got a lot better once I started being mindful of that, but I keep stiffening up and having to remind myself to relax my knees and shins. We'll see if I can do any better tomorrow, assuming I'm not incredibly sore.
