Mortal Instruments moments that have lived rent free in my head since middle school
rereading the mortal instruments and i find it hilarious that jace tried to bait lilith into a one vs one battle by being like “oh you’re the best and the most powerful huh?? prove it” to which she replies “lol that won’t work cuz i dont have a fragile masculine ego”
saw a post "Parabatais are all in love with each other" and
Simon had a thing for Clary
Alec had a thing for Jace
Julian and Emma are canon
Matthew and James act like a married couple
Lucie had this obsession for Cordelia's titties
Do I really have to explain Will and Jem?
Luke and Valentine's interactions can be described with two words: sexual tension
Michael was in love with Robert and Robert, the act of you being straight is not fooling anyone
everyone’s in love with their parabatai this, it’s not just julian and emma that—what if the boundary between romantic and platonic is not clearly demarcated. what if everyone took a second to research queerplatonic relationships. what if we didn’t have to want to marry/have sex with someone for them to be the most important person in our life. what if love is fluid and there is a gap between how we talk about it and how it actually works
Say what you will about Jocelyn but that woman deserves all the flowers and grace in the world !! Rereading CoB has made me realize just how much she actually did/went through.
Not only was she able to secretly plan an entire uprising against her own iconoclastic husband with hundreds of downworlders, found time to enlist the help of a powerful warlock to create a contingency spell that she could use for the future (that actually worked!), but she was also able to live through the pain of so much betrayal, of losing everything she's ever loved and known, her parents, her childhood home, her literal CHILD, stole the cup away and fled from idris with absolutely nothing except for some family heirlooms to sell and a plan to start a new life from SCRATCH all while pregnant !! with Clary !! and she managed to hide her family from Valentine for 15 YEARS all while giving her daughter a happy, normal life, yet constantly keeping in touch with the shadow world
Not to mention learning the harsh truth about her son and how he's not only alive, but turned into a MONSTER confirming all the fear and guilt she always beat herself up for, all the sick experiments Valentine did to two innocent children in a COMA
Oh and let's not forget how she cradled her son as he died, having to bear the burden of knowing that when his eyes turned green, she knew he would have been an amazing, incredible man she would have been proud of if it wasn't for the demon blood that her husband poisoned his soul with, and that she would never have the chance of seeing again
When I show up to the down bad competition but Luke Garroway is already there so I know it’s over 😞
Lowkey obsessing about the background of The Circle and how diverse and tragic their fates and lives were. A summary based on my stock knowledge:
Valentine - iredeemable asshole who ruined everyone's lives. I wonder if the demons were at least impressed with the lengths of evil that he did
Jocelyn - fell in love with the charismatic fascist and then gave birth to a demon and angel. Believed her son was dead and mourned him all her life but eventually got her HEA late in her life
Luke - cast away by his parabatai, was told to khs, and also had to see the love of his life married to devil reincarnate. Eventually got his HEA
Maryse - had a weak relationship with her husband but had 3 beautiful children and an adoptee. Burdened her young daughter about the secret of Robert's affair. Living her best post divorce life caring for her grandchildren
Robert - blamed his wife for their exile, had an affair, was a complicated homophobe to his parabatai. At least understood where he went wrong with his family and parabatai and almost helped 2 parabatai who were in love
Michael - had his and his son's identity taken after getting killed
Hodge - confined to the institute as his punishment. A loyalist until it was too late, betraying everyone for his own gain despite knowing and caring for all of the kids
Stephen - spineless herondale who chose to give in to peer pressure over the love of his life (tho we are grateful for the existence of jace, will and james would have never done what he did!)
Celine - never had a good day in her life from childhood to death
