On a parallel Earth where gold is plentiful, the metal is mostly used for decor as seen here embedded into a driveway. Without scarcity, it becomes apparent that there are far better materials for everything gold does. Gold’s one true utility is its shine.

Troll club: the size indicates this was made by a lesser troll using a ginko tree sapling removed from a sidewalk tree pit. Note that the branches were snapped off in a uniform pattern, making sure they have sharp ends. This piece was found in Brooklyn, New York, after an ice storm in the Spring of 2018. Trolls often walk between dimensions during cold, wet weather. The conditions are better then for their silicon based bodies.
