18,20,22…so many yellow curtains between YR and SKAM…. Would you ever write a new SKAM fic?
Hi there, thank you so much for the ask! 💜💜💜
18 First, second, or third person?
Definitely third person. I think second person is weird, and first person is very difficult to get right. I love how Suzanne Collins used first person in the Hunger Games triology, and rereading as a writer has taught me why it works and what its limits are. It doesn't fit for any of the fic ideas I have for wilmon though.
20 Do you work on a single project or many at the same time? How does that work for you?
I switch, but I also tend to write on one WIP until I get tired or a new shiny idea catches my brain. It also depends on mood - sometimes I want to write sth funny, other times I want to write something sad or angsty. I don't want to force myself to write bc that often gives me bad feelings and then I can't write at all.
22 What is it about watching the same two idiots falling in love over and over again?
Good question! For me it's that these characters and their story is deeply meaningful for me. Before Simon I've never felt represented, neither on screen or in books. A lot of what he goes through is things I've experienced. And to some degree with Wille as well, aside from the privilege and immature behaviour, I identify with his loneliness and feeling of not being seen. So yeah. With such amazing source material, it's easy to write stories.
SKAM and YR has so much in common, that's true. I don't know, I haven't thought about it - I never felt as represented or seen in any of the SKAM stories as I do with Young Royals. But if I did, I'd probably write it in Norwegian. I've never written a fic in Norwegian before, that'd be so much easier lol
Please ask me about writing 💜
