Experimenting with Parametric designs on a roof for the Island site rooms. Rhino Render and ArchiCAD render with rock texture Micheal
A series of collaged renders for our city site. We are proposing an open space which facilitates the interaction and intersection of people and their paths. Performance is key to our interaction with people by proposing an informal space in which people can "introduce" themselves to other we offer the inhabitants a place in which one does not have to perform alone. The second photo talks about the freeform housing that would be user determined and allow for multiple pathways through it, creating intersections between private and public and in between. Underneath our terrain would lie the actual land that would slowly become another place of activity where people could garden, swim, and walk in the park. Micheal
An exploded perspective drawing of one of the possible parametric designs that we may implement for our city site. Here we were thinking about the idea of facilitating flexible growth as determined by a community taking precedent from successful communities like Dharavi, a slum in India, and their organic and collective architectural growth. The floor offers a the community a blank slate to build upon, an artificial floor lifted from the rubble, and so leaves the space to be defined by the user rather than a distant designer.

50X50 Pixel images with sourced imagery for island site. Focusing on this idea of both the individual but also the context of site and referencing rock formations, organic and inorganic weaving and how it obscured and talks about elements of our island site plant-room, and the photography of Hedi Slimane and his fascination with youth sub-cultures and the isolating but affirming nature of them.
