How did they meet? Is it normal to have 'monstrous' spouses and friends in this world? Do they make each other tea or some fluff like that?

Elijah is the monster in that illustration, his husband being Benedito da Cruz, or Cruz for short.
Cruz is a private investigator that specializes in the supernatural, and he actually met Elijah during a case. They started out as investigation partners - Cruz being the supernatural brain and Elijah being the supernatural brawn - and then ended up becoming married partners <3
Their relationship is far from normal - the supernatural isn't that commonplace and Elijah is already pretty unique as an ascended demon. Cruz is also kind of infamous within supernatural circles.
Cruz doesn't really drink tea but they do love lots of physical contact
