PARC Postponed

Due to Tea in Sahara being closed for vacation PARC is being postponed until they re-open or we find a temporary new space.

January 25th--Toni Morrison's Beloved

For the month of January PARC will be tackling Toni Morrison's Beloved.

Given that it is a novel, and the pdf itself is approximately 200 pages, it is suggested to read a little bit at a time so as to not overwhelm yourself.

We will not be meeting on the 2nd Sunday of January. Instead we will convene on January 25th, the fourth Sunday, to discuss the entirety of the text.

Again, take your time with Beloved. Not only because of the length, but also because of the content.

Join PARC For Our Fanonian December

Providence Africana Reading Collective will be observing a Fanonian December this year.

For our December 14th meeting we will be discussing "Concerning Violence" (also known as "On Violence") from Frantz Fanon's "The Wretched of the Earth" (pgs 35-106)

For our December 28th meeting we will be discussing two texts by the illustrious Joy James. The first being "'Concerning Violence': Frantz Fanon’s Rebel Intellectual in Search of a Black Cyborg" and the second being a piece co-written with Joao Costa Vargas "Refusing Blackness as Victimization: Trayvon Martin and the Black Cyborgs".
