Alienating parents will sometimes use other electronic devices logged in using the child's Apple ID and send iMessages on the child's behalf to the targeted parent to make it look like the child is sending the message. The alienating parent will then delete the message from the child's device, so the child is unaware this is happening. In moderate to severe alienation situations, the child goes along with it to protect their alienating parent and say they sent it, or the child will send it themselves after being worked up. Alienated children will sometimes send a friendly response to the targeted parent hoping they sent it in private. They then delete the message from their device, so the alienating parent doesn't see them showing the targeted parent love. Unknowingly they might have someone watching their every move. Their anxiety increases when the targeted parent starts responding lovingly with excitement. A challenging situation to navigate. What if the alienating parent sees the evidence? The child withdraws and thinks twice about ever sending another message again.
