After the, um, accidental kidnapping, Albedo learns that Pari!Reader hates being taken to the city. But they enjoy being at the Inn or in nature.
He finds them again on the balcony. They’re splashing happily in a tub of shallow water. He remembers the Adeptus that got angry at him, but as long as he doesn’t take Pari, he isn’t breaking any rules.
So he plays with Pari a while. And he isn’t bothered.
Until Xiao is walking up the stairs and finds Albedo with Pari again. It takes all his self control to not attack Albedo.
He begrudgingly learns that Albedo isn’t much of a threat to Pari. And maybe he can help should Pari get kidnapped by a certain Geo Archon.
[ prev post ] : spoilers for albedo lore/story quest
all things considered, albedos trip to liyue was going rather well. aside from the part where he angered an adeptus and nearly got his head cut off, of course, he could have gone without that. but he’d found the source of the ley line disturbance, and a few books in the city on teyvat’s mythos confirmed what he already suspected. the pari were an ancient sumerun race capable of changing the very terrain with their elemental powers… so why were you here?
unfortunately, there was no book on the local adepti at wanwen bookhouse. he considered asking around, but that might just draw unnecessary suspicion. if you lingered around the inn, it was likely your adeptus wasn’t far behind. he conferred with a few local specialists, comparing notes on the ley line disturbances. taking care of his business in the harbor took less time than traveling here, but he wasn’t as upset as he’d normally be. you alone would have warranted a full trip to the inn.
revised notes and a few new pages of others’ observations later, he was on his way. it was late into the afternoon, too late to return to mondstat but more than early enough to make it to the inn. the path was well-worn and easy to follow, and even if it wasn’t it was hard to get lost in the plains. wangshu inn stood high above the horizon line, a permanent marker of his path. he passed the occasional merchant or guild member, but neither they nor he stopped. his journey was largely uneventful, in truth, arriving at the inn an hour or so before the sun would sink below the sea. perhaps if he was able to get settled in by then, he’d be able to watch.
he checks in, going to the balcony to try and catch a glimpse of the sky, and finds you again. someone’s set out a shallow tub for you, filled halfway up with water and sitting on a table so you can see over the railing. the fading sun catches the splashes of water and turns them a bright gold, though you quickly freeze up. how strange, that someone as far removed from human form as you express such complicated emotions as conflict and warning so easily.
how strange, that a pari had not only found itself in liyue, but chosen to stay under watch of an adepti.
“i apologize for earlier,” he says, taking post by the railing and setting up an easel from his inventory. “i didn’t know you had found a guardian. you’re not native to liyue, and i worried.”
a half truth. his motives were far more self-serving than selfishness, but he truly wouldn’t have bothered you if he knew you had “the bane of all evil” as your host. his mistake, though the circumstances of your relationship were quite strange. not a pet, you were too intelligent and the adepti had insisted otherwise.
idly, he trasmutes one of his shorter pencils into a small wooden boat, khemia buzzing in his fingertips. it’s child’s play, one of the first forms he’d mastered, but he hears you chirp sharply from behind him. it’s not fearful, and you don’t say anything when he sets it on the table next to your basin in a quiet offering. he angles himself such that he can see both you and dragonspine behind you, taking up another pencil and beginning to draw.
was it wise to start another sketch when his first was still unfinished? probably not. but that one didn’t have you in it, did it?
the wind runs cold as the sun begins to set, though he doesn’t notice. what does make him pause is the burn of ozone in the air, his mind automatically wondering if tubing had come loose before remembering that he wasn’t in his lab anymore, and that-
“what are you doing here?”
right. ozone, the same odd smell that he didn’t have enough time to register earlier, stinging his nose and warning the air. albedo set down his eraser, giving his hands a cursory dusting before turning around. the same adeptus as before, flickers of gold gathered in one hand like he’s prepared to draw his spear at any moment. you sit in your tub, glancing between them, and he notices you’ve brought the boat in with you.
“drawing. it’s too late to make the journey to mondstadt, and i’ve already checked in with ms goldet. don’t worry, no harm has come to your… friend?”
the adeptus doesn’t respond, not that he expected him to. this was a shared public space, one that he happened to be in at the same time as you. nothing suspicious. you were not alarmed, and had not called for assistance.
you chirped softly, succeeding in getting both of their attentions. you were holding up the boat, carefully balancing it on your wings. were you… showing it to him? why?
the adeptus—would it be rude to ask for his name?—picked up the boat by the mast, turning it over. his gold eyes flashed white with elemental sight, then he returned it just as delicately as he’d picked it up. “where’d you get that?” he asked, voice considerably softer than before.
you pointed one wing at albedo with another chip, letting the boat fall back into the water and batting it around. he’s not sure how much entertainment someone capable of understanding complicated inter-personal relations could garner from a boat, but you were pushing yours to the upper limit, it seems.
“you.” he lifted his eyes, surprised to see the harshness in the adeptus’ had dulled. “what’s your name?”
“i am albedo, chief alchemist of the knights of favonius. you are?”
“…I don’t suppose you just *happened* to have that boat on-hand?”
“no, i made it for them. consider it a gift for scaring the both of you last time.”
“i did not get *scared-…*” he crossed his arms, shaking his head. “irrelevant. come with me, you’re going to catch a cold.”
the latter sentence was of course addressed towards you, his hand lowering to pick up his sleeve. he held it out for you to flap up and into, clutching the boat tight to your chest. the adeptus turned away, swallowed by blue smoke, and albedo sighed.
he’d much have preferred to have his name, but it wasn’t strictly necessary. as for his drawing, it was getting dark, so he added in a quick detail on the front before flipping it over, writing along the top of its frame.
‘an adeptus and his friend.’ — oil, canvas — a painting of a small pari in a basin, lifting a toy boat into the air. at first glance, it may seem like they are the adeptus in question, but finer eyes will see a figure hidden in the shadows atop the roof, looking down with a thin smile. completed by the chief alchemist during his trip to liyue, kindly donated to the knights’ headquarters for your viewing pleasure.
Pari!Reader gets sad when their leaf mask gets torn. Whether they were playing too rough or Wei (the cat in the inn lobby) tore it, they lost their mask. They have those sad anime eyes (the cutely exaggerated ones). They want to fix it, but no one else knew about that leaf mask.
They stay gloomy for the rest of the day until Xiao comes back.
The next day, they see a little replica of Xiao’s mask made from wood. It was sitting near their nest. When they tried it in, it was light but sturdy. Who could have gotten it for them? How was it so detailed? Who could have known? Oh well. Time to play, little Pari thinks.
Xiao didn’t have the heart to just leave them after he heard them crying when the leaf mask was ripped. He might have put a charm on this one so it wouldn’t break as easily.
[ previous post ]
xiao was better than this. the last yaksha, conqueror of demons, the bane of all evil himself.. searching the plains of liyue well into the night for a suitable piece of wood to carve. it wasn’t for an offering, it wouldn’t be turned into an incense bowl or statue, it was neither for a critical repair or somehow enchanted to be a danger. no, this wood would be used for a far more frivolous purpose: you.
you, who he’d been watching from the roof as you played on the balcony below. you with your mock spear and wei with his paws, uselessly batting at each other in a play fight. he thought it was ridiculous, really—your thin wings would surely bleed beneath any monster’s claws, better you learn to run away from danger—but had watched. it was harmless fun. you ducked behind the potted bonsai for protection, racing around the trunk and likely making the poor cat dizzy, when a harsh rip echoed into the night. you stopped, looking behind you as the two halves of your ‘mask’ fluttered to the floor, torn by one of the branches of the tree. his only thought was that you weren’t hurt, watching as wei tackled you off the pot and onto the floor, but you squirmed free quickly, floating over to the remains… sadly? wei followed, sniffing the leaves, but you didn’t seem interested in playing anymore. you sat by the leaves for far too long, not even moving when wei curled up beside you.
it was nothing. it was a leaf tied around your head with another’s stem, bound to rot and flake away anyway, but you were sulking the next day. he never thought he’d return to his makeshift room and have you not fly up to him with a cloud of chirps, and he quickly decided he didn’t like it. if you were sad you lost your mask, then he’d just have to get you a new one.
he kicked at the remains of a campfire, stomping out the remaining embers. an abandoned adventurer’s camp of some sort, the air free of any malicious warnings. besides the remains of the campfire were a few stray logs, likely spare firewood. he dug through the measly pile, pulling out a log. there was no rot, water damage, no sign of bugs or anything else that would ruin the wood. without another thought, he tucked it under his arm, turning and vanishing into the wind.
he had left when you were already asleep, so he could go straight to his room, but he made a stop first. yanxiao hardly jumped when he turned from the stove, though he did eye the log in his hands strangely.
“what can i get you?”
“i need to borrow a knife.”
“…” he laughed, propping his hands on the table in front of him, and xiao grit his teeth. an adepti, reduced to this… “what, did you lose your spear?”
“of course i didn’t,” he snapped, “but i’m not foolish enough to think i can use a spear to carve wood.”
yanxiao nodded in understanding, reaching into his pocket for a small flip knife. it was barely as long as one of his fingers, the handle a dark wood. “this should do, i think.” he threw the knife underhand, and xiao caught it with ease. the blade flicked out easily, sharp to the touch. “remember to cut away from you, yeah?”
his grip tightened on the knife, leaving without thanks.
safely in the shadow of his room, xiao finally relaxed. one by one, he removed his guards and charms, quietly setting them in their respective places. you were curled up in your bed as always, none the wiser as he stepped out onto the balcony. he sat facing the moon, setting his mask on the floor beside him. again drawing the small knife, he braced the wood in his lap and began to carve.
yanxiao was many things, but a fool he was not. he had heard from verr about your mask tearing yesterday, about how you sat quietly on xiao’s terrace for the rest of the day in a pout. you were a strange guest, certainly, but you were xiao’s. he kept very limited company, and those he lingered around felt his affections quietly.
when flowers had blown off their tables prior to the reception of an important guest, a mysterious bundle of qingxin had found it’s way onto the reception desk to replace them. when the eccentric xianyun had stopped by for a ‘surprise lunch,’ a small note in familiar writing on his table told him her tastes. when your small, flimsy mask tore in two… well, he couldn’t wait to find out.
he worked as usual, trading guesses with verr as he helped ferry plates back and forth. would he fetch you new leaves in perpetuity? fetch new ones from your home nation of sumeru? find a new toy to distract you? neither of them had ever met a pari before, didn’t know what you wanted or needed to thrive, but they entertained themselves with nonsense speculation nontheless.
xiao showing up in his kitchen without warning was nothing out of the ordinary. yanxiao had learned to pick out the shift in air pressure that signaled his arrival, wiping off his hands and putting the washed vegetables aside. the flat expression on his face was also routine, but the log he held most certainly wasn’t. handcarved offerings weren’t all too uncommon in liyue, especially from an adeptus, but he had a feeling it wasn’t for rex lapis or another adepti.
the next question, of course, was what he would carve. verr suggests a wooden mimic of the leaf mask and he can’t hide the way that makes him laugh, his smile wider than usual as he greets customers.
that night, if you stood just quietly enough beneath the upper balcony and the wind blew the right way, you would hear the quiet scrape of wood and metal. and the next morning, if you were anywhere near the inn, you would likely see a bright pari weaving through the levels, eager to show off their brand new mask carved by the hero of dihua marsh himself.
Before anyone learned that Pari!Reader was the Creator, Albedo had managed to catch a glimpse of them while he was at the Inn heading to the harbor. Xiao is away dealing with demons, so Albedo is able to get close to Pari!Reader. He finds their chirping adorable, and he can tell they don’t mind by the way they nuzzle into his hand.
He plays with Pari!Reader for a while until he has to go. He makes the mistake of trying to take Pari with him.
He isn’t even across the bridge before Xiao has a spear pointed at Albedo’s throat, demanding he release Pari.
i love this really, like albedo studies leylines and he can sense the disturbance, so he decides to travel to liyue to ask some specialists about it. he travels, taking a stop at wangshu inn, travelling high to better sketch the view. liyue is rather pretty, and this angle of dragonspine is quite striking… he grabs a chair and sits against the balcony railing, sketching as the sun sets.
when a rather odd looking creature flies onto the balcony, it starts toward him, then stops, awkwardly readjusting midair to land on the balcony. it’s as if it expected him to be someone else…
he flipped to a new page, sketching the strange creature. it was unfamiliar to him… maybe local to liyue?
it tilts its head at him and he smiles. “hello. how are you?”
he mostly ignores it, figuring it’s some sort of adeptal pet or creation, but when he returns the next morning to catch a few more details for his drawing, it’s there again. it flaps, chittering, and he smiles as he finalizes the sketch. he can color and refine it later, but these details were crucial before he continued his journey into the city.
he looks up to say goodbye, and sees the creature curled up on the railing, seemingly asleep? how strange, for an animal to place its trust in another so willingly…
after a few moments of inspection, he realized the creature was imbued with some form of elemental ability. how odd, he thought he’d had all forms of elemental life documented… perhaps this is what’s been causing the disturbances?
after a bit of thought, he takes off his jacket and gently moves the creature into it, keeping them bundled in one arm. he collected his things and said goodbye to verr goldet, walking out of the inn. his trip is peaceful, though the creature begins to stir as he approaches the gate. he slows, making a small opening in the jacket for it to poke its head out. it tilts its head again, chittering, and he can’t help but smile.
“hello,” he says again, and the thing chirps back, looking around as he continues to walk. however, once it does, when it sees the buildings of the harbor and the millelith standing guard, it starts to fuss, flapping its wings.
he should have seen this coming, in truth.
“no, i won’t hurt you-“ the creature bats away his hand, letting out a sharp cry that hurts his ears with the pitch. he winces, and in the split second his eyes are closed, something sharp presses against his skin.
“release them.”
his eyes open, and he sees.. someone he doesn’t recognize, admittedly. teal eyes and a jade spear just as sharp are all he can pick up, their hand reaching for his jacket, pulling sharply. the creature quickly squirms out, diving behind the stranger’s shoulder, and albedo timidly raises his hands.
“a pet, then? i was unaware-“
“don’t call them that,” the stranger growls, and albedo hisses as their spear digs into his skin more. they reach their free hand to the creature, who leans into them with chitters.
“who-…” he doesn’t think he’s met another with such a fierce glare, though the weapon at his throat certainly doesn’t help. “who are you?”
the stranger sneers, lip curling. “you dare venture into liyue without knowing those who reside there? do you have no respect for the adepti?”
ah. that explains quite a bit.
“my apologies. i am not a native.”
“clearly.”
“…might you be able to tell me what that is, then? i have never encountered an elemental being in that form before, not have i read about one. it appears to resemble one of sumeru’s…” he pauses, fumbling for the name, and the adeptus retracts his polearm.
“that is none of your business. in the future, it would be wise to not touch what isn’t yours, and stay out of what you’re not involved in. i will be keeping an eye on you for the remainder of your journey; be mindful of your manners.”
the adeptus turns, vanishing in a cloud of teal smoke, and albedo lets out a breath, hands lowering.
at least that explains how he appeared without his noticing.
Okay, but, Pari!Creator being afraid of literally everyone but Xiao.
Zhongli once visited Xiao and Pari!Creator hid from both of them, worrying poor Xiao. He only finds them after Zhongli leaves.
Verr and Yanxiao only win the Pari!Creator over with good and patience, so they are the only ones that can vouch for Xiao when Zhongli looks confused.
Ganyu, as soft-spoken as she is, is still intimidating to Pari!Creator.
Venti would scare the poor thing away, scaring Xiao because he can’t find his little friend.
god that’s so…. waug
i’m just gonna swing for a moment that this is creator!pari!reader—if you specified in the past i forgot sorry—because i have this idea:
you being afraid of others (specifically of vision wielders, but people in general are strange) because you don’t want them to find out you’re an outlander or bring you to the one on the throne. in sumeru, candace had temporarily harbored you, but after mention of a bringing you to a god that you didn’t remember, you left east, for more familiar lands. the aranara also mentioned bringing you to irmunsul and collei wanted to take you to tighnari, so you flew your way over to liyue and decided to stay alone until you figured out why exactly you: 1) showed up to teyvat 2) did so in a form you didn’t even recognize??
xiao feels a strange pull and assumes it’s a monster, teleporting to where you are, but as you squeak and flap to hide behind a tree.. you’re not an enemy, are you?
he manages to coax you out, the both of you just kinda assessing each other. well, he’s looking over you, you’re trying to figure out how fast you can fly.
“you’re supposed to be in sumeru,” he decides, and you flap back because no the fungi are scary and the trees are so big and the desert’s hot and you don’t know this ‘divine one’ people keep talking about but you swear if it’s the red king—
xiao panics, unsure why he feels so bad at making you afraid. “y-you don’t have to go! if you don’t want to. i.. can find you somewhere to stay.”
ever since, most everyone you’ve run into has mentioned either this ‘divine creator’ or has thought you’re a threat (since things radiating ‘im not dangerous!’ auras are usually dangerous-), so you make the executive choice to stick by xiao and stay far, far away from everybody else.
you’re not sure why he doesn’t feel the same aura the others gawk about—to him it just registers as familiarity, because that’s what safety is to him—but he’s safe, you can trust him, and you’re not going to be stolen or grabbed or hurt if you just stick with him.
…but at night, when you wake up—evidently your new form needs less sleep—and wander onto the balcony to look at the stars, you hear verr talking to someone.
“-yaksha’s?”
“no, he doesn’t seem the type…”
xiao? why are they talking about him?
you look down, only to find them looking up at you. with a startled chirp, you fall backward off the railing, catching yourself mid-air to hide behind a potted plant.
the next day, she calls xiao about it before the two of you leave, gesturing to the balcony above where you’re waiting for him.
“do you have a bird?”
he looks up. “…no. i don’t keep pets.”
“oh… then.. why is it..?”
he shrugs. she drops it, but leaves you a small bowl of berries when she tidies up the upper balcony, politely pretending not to see you hiding behind the pot again.
yanxiao is a similar story, except when he goes to deliver xiao his tofu, you’re able to be seen just over his shoulder, batting at a small stone on his desk.
xiao takes the plate with a short “thanks” and closes the door before he can ask.
the both of them take forever to actually see you up close, only ever interacting with xiao as a proxy. it’s slow, with you always making sure they’re not planning on taking you anywhere and xiao picking up on the fact you don’t like people, and it takes a couple of months for verr to be able to carefully hold out her hand and pet over your wing.
but they don’t have visions, nor combat experience, nor do they seem to register the “aura” either (it’s because you approach slow, and they assume its either care or curiosity), and you know from lore that they’re good people.
anybody else? not a chance.
you’re in xiao’s room when there’s a knock on the door. the second xiao answers and you hear that it’s zhongli at the door, you dive under his bed, hiding against the wall.
“ganyu’s been telling me you’ve been keeping a.. pet?”
“not really, but they’re—“ xiao turns to where you just were, to the small stone you’d been hitting back in forth, now on the desk abandoned. he tries not to panic, he does, he knows you’re just shy, but he wraps up whatever zhongli wants to talk about quickly, all but slamming the door.
“friend?” he calls, moving around his room and checking wherever he can think. “he’s gone, please… please come back.”
you wriggle out from under the bed with a squeak and he picks you up quickly, relieved. he doesn’t like when you vanish like that, even if it’s temporary.
You cannot tell me that Childe would not try to throw hands with Pari!Reader.
After Zhongli brings Pari back to the harbor in a Geo cage, Childe sees it. He can tell it’s powerful. And he wants to try and fight it. Zhongli lets him because he wants to know what’s up with the creature.
Xiao wants to stab Tartaglia, but won’t let him.
The angst of Xiao being forced to watch his little friend get hurt while he can only sit there. (He’s bound in Zhongli’s Geo. He couldn’t help either way.)
(relevant ask here)
pfft- the way i can see this happening though-
he sees zhongli walking with a cage of geo in his hands, foul legacy chittering at the sight of the creature inside. in an instant he knows it’s a powerful being, pushing aside all other things in his mind as he jogs over. he was already out on a walk, and this is so much more interesting than hilichurls.
“zhongli! what do you have there, huh?”
“ah, childe. to what do i owe this visit?”
“just out for a stroll, comrade!” too late, he notices what seems to be an adeptus lingering behind zhongli, his jade shield wrapped around him. the adeptus seems stressed, but silent. did they get into a fight?
did they get into a fight with this?
something strong enough to push an adeptus to silence sends a thrill through him, and he hurriedly tries to convince zhongli to let him have a go at it in a rush. the adeptus seems stressed but that’s fine, he can handle it, and both him and zhongli are here if anything goes wrong! really, it’s about the principle of the thing now, of knowing he’s fought whatever powerful thing is contained in this cage.
when zhongli agrees, he can barely believe his luck.
Whenever Xiao finally sleeps, Pari!Creator gives him good dreams by resting near his head. If Xiao has nightmares, he won’t go to sleep for a long time, so Pari!Creator wants to help by replacing the bad dreams with good dreams. But since they don’t know too much about his past, they share their dreams with him.
More often than not, the dreams are of looking at the stars or something mundane that Xiao already knows about. His favorite are of when Pari!Creator is happily batting around a rock in his room. It’s too cute.
But sometimes, he sees something unexplainable. He sees buildings taller than Wangshu Inn. There were moving metal boxes racing down black roads. And the people. So many people compared to Liyue. He can hear someone calling out to him. But not him. The name is blanked out. He sees his reflection in a shiny window. The one that looks back is not him.
When he wakes up from these dreams, he sees his little Pari friend crying in their sleep.
this.. is so cool
part of why xiao doesn’t sleep that much is the fact that he does have nightmares often, replaying some of the worst moments of his life. it only makes sense that you’d want to fix that, right?
you do your best not to let your own memories leak through, but.. that’s a tall task for a god without their full powers. you’re giving him dreams of comfort, safety, familiarity, so it’s inevitable that something familiar to you would bleed through.
it translates as people he doesn’t remember calling a name that isn’t his, greeting him as if they were a long time friend. they are, he thinks, he knows them. right? right…?
steel that seems to reach the skies, taller than liyue’s spires, cities full of people in odd clothing. but he knows them right? he knows this place, that’s why he’s in one of the buildings. a cafe of sorts, he knows those, doesn’t he? he knows the menu (that he can’t read) and this seat, he knows the drink in his hands. it’s his favorite, isn’t it?
something square on the table buzzes, and he looks to it in instinct. why? why not? he knows that sound, right?
right…
he looks out the window again, and his reflection in the glass has changed. but it’s still his, right? this is familiar. this is safe. he knows this town, this city, this cafe, he knows the coat around his shoulders and the drink in his hand, he knows, he knows…
when he wakes up, it all slips from his hands like water through a sieve. details are lost within the moments of him waking, leaving him with only a faint hum of confusion. it quickly turns to worry, though, as he sees you cry, the water on his fingers driving out the rest of his sleepiness.
within the hour, he’s forgotten he’s dreamt at all. perhaps that’s for the better…
After first meeting, Reader refused to let go of him, even making a sad face when he had to leave.
(pari also sent in these two other asks that i will be addressing in this post!)
HI PARI sorry i’ve lowkey forgotten about these asks ahahah-
in order that you sent them:
the entire concept that pari!reader has these signals that only xiao understands is hilarious. you’re swearing out people and everyone just thinks you’re waving? peak comedy.
character realizing they’ve been so casual with their god is always hilarious in sagau, but funnier here because he’s treated you like a pet. goldet and yanxiao also need to reassess themselves for a hot minute because holy fuck, they cooed and pet their creator?? they fed you berries and scraps? give them some time to cope they’re not handling it the best-
and to you, tired and emotionally exhausted, someone cool and calm like xiao is a nice break. it makes sense you’d want to cling to him, to have some semblance of emotional connection after the hunt and all your other problems- he understands, doesn’t he? even if it’s a bit worrying you have you so close to his karma, you do seem rather lonely, always flying to him quickly when he comes home. he lives a dangerous life, and if he’s honest… it’s nice to have something this sweet to come home to.
Pari!Creator mimicking some of Xiao’s habits. Like going up and down similar to his plunging attacks. Holding a stick like he holds his spear. They even put a leaf on their face and pretend it’s his mask.
They do this when they think he isn’t around. But he has caught them several times.
that’s actually so cute i-
you’re so bored, and with little to do while he clears out karma-ridden hillichurls or just leaves you at the inn for his nightly patrols, it makes sense you’d find some way to fill the time right?
he moves so cleanly, calculation behind every one of his movements, a grace in the way he twists his spear. he’s beautiful, really, and you find easy ways to keep yourself busy when he’s gone.
carefully tearing a leaf in the shape of his mask, finding a perfectly shaped twig in the giant tree wrapped around the inn, using the sleeve he’d given you as a makeshift tunic as you hop around.
maybe you copy some of his voicelines, throwing your ‘spear’ at a lamp with a cry to lament, but it just comes out as sharp chirps to everyone else listening.
…xiao’s been on the balcony for the past ten or so minutes, hiding in the shadows. you’re too cute to disturb, not when you’re having so much fun.
