We are living in a world we now must fear...
Every day I have a subtle fear of being shot down in school, at a movie theater, a bar, anywhere. I am now afraid of visiting one of my favorite places, Orlando, where I have had many happy moments with family. I sit in a theater and fear seeing my family shot before my eyes by a mad man. I fear the streets, I fear my neighborhood, I do not wish to be left home alone due to the thought of someone breaking in and killing me. I onceused to love going outside and exploring, but now I am afraid to go outside and relax. I am afraid of strangers on the street, white, black, Muslim, I fear every human I see walk by me. Because, now, no one is safe to me. I used to want to befriend everyone, but now I hide from my fellow people in the streets. I find myself terrified of dark eyed men, who may just be tired from a long day at work. But, how am I to know? How am I to know that man is not carrying a gun and if I give him one wrong stare I will end up with a bullet in my head. I fear my friends in other countries will meet the same fate. I fear my friends in other states will too. I am afraid of my home. I am afraid of people. I cannot trust anyone anymore...
I am scared.
