Winged Victory of Samothrace/ Nike of Samothrace from the Louvre It is one of the earliest statues to depict dynamic movement. Being broken has made the statue more famous. The shadows imply their disconnect: the man's shadow appears close enough to kiss her cheek, yet her own shadow is stretched far above.
