Ghosts on the Paris to Reno Stretch of Trail
Okay, so my boyfriend and I ate dinner in the cafeteria last night, it was a relatively average start to the night. Then I asked if he wanted to drive us partway to Reno TX. Once we arrived in the parking lot, we started on our way to the Reno section of the trail - Mind you it was still daylight outside so birds were chirping and there was still high visibility outside (a pleasant 65 degrees as well). There’s a crossing sign that tells you when you are in Paris, and the other side is Reno. We always tend to walk into Reno and stop at the same metal bench. Arriving at the seat, we got close together and snuggled a bit. Then after a bit, the walk continued; the more we walked, the farther the sun sunk in the distance. Eventually, we reached another small town with large open fields on either side of us (I don’t remember the town’s name, but the darker things got the weirder things seemed to be.) There was one stretch of path where my Boyfriend felt a blast of heat hovering over his chest, and then it hung over my face making it hard to breathe. Then it sort of lingered in the area around us later when we were far enough down the trail it subsided. Eventually, we reached another bench and hung out there for a while (we talked and watched a bit of YouTube for a while.) Later on, we headed back towards the car through the night, and you know how I mentioned that blast of heat earlier? Well, when we hit the same small stretch, it came back for about twenty to thirty minutes and left us alone after that. Eventually, we made it back to the car while talking to each other and joking around. Last night will out with my boyfriend will be unforgettable for sure.
