Krampus Taking the Bad Kids Back to Hell
An old drawing I did that I finally got to scan. I drew it when the new TMNT's designs came out. I really don't like them at all. The animation looked cool when I got to see the promo later, but the mixed feelings man...! Anyway this is Trentar the krampus (parkelj) king taking the bad designs to hell. Krampus or parkelj in Slovenian are traditional folklore creatures in the alps that come from the underground and walk around for a short while looking and scaring bad children before Miklavž/st. Nicolas (not the same as santa but based on the same historical figure) comes on the 6th of December to bring gifts for the children who behaved. And the ones that didn't behave the krampus would take back to hell with them. Haha! At least we tell that to kids so they behave! also when I say they walk around at night I really mean they do! Young men in costumes walk around after twillight and scare people and cover them with sooth. This was my childhood fear! Also here's the Trentar's mask.
Have you been good ...or bad? {x}
sidenote: the pakeljs (parklji, dial. parkeljni) above aren’t really authentic, Slovene pakeljs (parklji, dial. parkeljni) are supposed to have a long red tongue and a chain
