Here’s another shot of this beautiful pen!

When I pulled this pen out of the box, I was immediately struck by the cool touch of the sterling silver, combined with the sharp edges of the deep engraving. The piece is heavy and cool, like a Flighter, and warms up in the hand the same way, but no Flighter has the feel of this pen! This piece was made by Sergio Kullock, and is hallmarked "STERLING SILVER" and "SK" on the back of the cap. The Parker name is engraved on the cap front, as on the Parker 51 Aero-metric Signet all gold-filled pen. I've seen three examples of this engraved sterling silver pen, one of which had a chrome plated clip.

This is a set of three long clip White Dot Lady Sheaffer models, c. 1968-1972, from the fall 2022 Pennant article “Late Production Lady Sheaffer Pens 1967-1989,” by Gary Ellison. These pens will have short conical nibs. The top pen is model 901, then model 902 and 903. Another throwback photo from 2004: This is a Parker 51 Signet Aerometric Demi fountain pen and pencil set with a 1/10 14 karat gold-filled cap and barrel c. 1949. The first Aerometric models are date coded 1948, though the launch was in 1949. The new filler unit that replaced the Vacumatic system is a clear “pli-glass” ink sac squeeze fill unit with a breather tube. The Signet was among three all metal Aerometric 51s introduced in 1949, along with the solid gold Presidential and the stainless steel Flighter. The engraving on the cap and barrel is three lines and a space. There is also a cartouche on the barrel for personalization. The Aerometric 51 was the top Parker pen until the introduction of the 61 in 1956. This is a VANCO painted cream colored plastic fountain pen c. 1950s. The gold and red paint appears to be hand applied. The design on this 4 ¾ inch long pen is obviously derived from the Parker 51, including having a similar squeeze filler mechanism. VANCO was a Japanese pen maker and had a relationship with the Shobido Silver Store in Osaka, resulting in many high quality sterling silver pens. Both companies were owned by members of the Eto family. VANCO is a stamped on the gold filled clip. The squeeze filler unit is stamped THE NAVY PEN CO. LTD.
