do people really just let their music taste happen to them. like you just listen to whatever is trending and whichever pop artist you tolerate most, you listen to more of their discography. aren't you curious about that one niche prog rock album from 15 years ago whose lyrics feel uncannily personal to you. aren't you curious about that one indie band who will make you have visual hallucinations the first time you hear them. don't you want to know how it feels to have studied a concept album long enough to have all the lyrics and chord progressions memorized because you were high on pain meds the first time you heard it and it altered your neuronal connectivity
