I visited an area in Tattenhoe Park on Tuesday to make sure the area was ok for a camera club shoot planned there for yesterday and while there I spotted this beautiful Comma butterfly, so named because it has a small white comma shaped mark on the underside of its wing. “Polygonia c-album, the comma, is a food generalist butterfly species belonging to the family Nymphalidae. The angular notches on the edges of the forewings are characteristic of the genus Polygonia, which is why species in the genus are commonly referred to as anglewing butterflies.” @theparkstrust #miltonkeynes #parkstrust #butterfly #nature #naturalhistory #commabutterfly #tattenhoepark #miltonkeyneswildlife (at Tattenhoe Park) https://www.instagram.com/p/B0HGF5RHX3t/?igshid=zbemfqzaf25
