OC SONG OF THE DAY/NIGHT TAG
had this cute idea to introduce characters a day at a time based on their song of the day 🎧
Oreyana Pandaum (OAR-EE-AWN-AH): The ex-wife of Eirynia's new (ish) boyfriend, Andaris.
Her song of the night is: Y - Citizen Queen
Oreyana. There’s a name the Noxthorne sisters would love to forget. Ex-wife to Andaris, mother to their precious twins, the one they’d rather erase from Tenebraethia’s memory.
But I’m not so easily discarded. No matter how much they pretend otherwise, I’m right here, at the crossroads of their precious little domains, watching. Waiting. Every lie, every whispered betrayal—I’ve cataloged them all. They can paint me as the bitter ex, the power-hungry outcast, but I’m just getting started.
And that brings me to today’s soundtrack. ‘Y’ by Citizen Queen. It’s like it was written for someone with just about enough. Every beat feels like a pulse beneath my skin, every line a reminder of the promises they broke, of the love they trampled on. Now, don't go there. This isn’t some helpless question, some “why did this happen to me?” pity party. No, it’s the spirit beneath every step I take, every move I make. It’s a reminder that I’m still here, unbroken.
Those snobby little ingrates think they’ve got it all figured out. Got me all figured out. Eirynia, especially—my so-called ride-or-die, the “best friend” I thought would always have my back.
“Womb to tomb,” she’d say. What a crock of shit. She’s always fancied herself the mastermind, even back when we were little, racing down Aucrist’s cobblestone streets. Always puppeteering, thinking she’s got everyone’s strings.
But unlike her new little circle, I know every corner of that calculating mind. I’ve spent years watching her, her sisters, that whole arrogant clan. Befriending them. Enduring them. And with that, I’ve learned the cracks. Every arrogant glance, every slip of vulnerability she tries so hard to hide. If they only knew who their oh-so-precious Keeper of Time really is.
The Noxthorne tri-flops thought they could keep me in check, toss me the scraps of Aucrist and watch me prance away like a well-trained pet. They really think only the capital will satisfy me? Small potatoes, darlings, small potatoes. But don’t worry… they’ll see. They’ll see just how far I’m willing to go to make sure every last one of them falls. And when they do, I’ll be the one to pick up the pieces, finally making Tenebraethia what it was always meant to be—a realm under true, relentless power.
And my children—Ymir and Ymani, my only children—they’ll see the truth, too. They’ll realize who really has their best interests at heart. It’s not Eirynia and her little circle of sycophants who think they know what’s best. It’s me. It’s always been me. I’m their mother, for the gods’ sake. When the time comes, they’ll look back at every deception, every illusion that family spun around them. They’ll finally see the reality I’ve known all along, the truth I’ve clung to through every lie, every betrayal at the Noxthornes’ hands.
the taglist is under the cut. thank you for reading; it's an open tag for anyone wanting to try it!
