At one time, Emery was actually more of a casual fling person. He had been spurned a few too many times in relationships that weren’t exactly good for him, so things without any strings attached were just easier. You couldn’t get hurt as easily if there was no expectation for the long term in the first place. So Emery didn’t really date for a time. It was solely casual flings. Not many, because he kept himself busy with school and work and friends, but there were some and he much preferred the one night stands to anything that he had to put effort into. It was all out of fear and a misplaced sense that the way things had gone before in any of his relationships was completely his fault when it wasn’t, even if he wasn’t entirely innocent in them. However, he’s since come to terms with the fact that that wasn’t the case and he’s much more comfortable in the relationship he’s in now  !  As a matter of fact, he’s incredibly happy and is settled into a relationship that he desperately hopes will be long term.
