A CCD is a semi conductor chip meaning it has the conductivity between a insulator and a conductor. The electrons in any atom are arranged in layers called shells and the outermost is called a valence shell. Conductors have a single electron in this shell, but silicon, which is the primary semiconducting element of the CCD, has four electrons in it’s valence shell. These electrons try to form bonds with other electrons. If the closest atom to the electrons are of the same element then they will have the same number of electrons thus each electron will have another electron in the neighboring atom to pair up with. The atoms then arrange into a crystalline structure which is why semiconductors are made out of crystal, usually silicone crystals. This however is not how a CCD is structured. In a CCD, the chip is not made purely of silicon since silicon is not a very good conductor. In the core there is another element called Phosphorus. In the valence shell of the Phosphorus atom, there are five electrons so they only have four electrons in the silicone atom to pair with; thus there is one electron in the phosphorus valence shell that is unpaired. This process of introducing a new element with a different number of electrons in the valence shell is called doping.
HEY so this was me a while ago asking you a question: "hey I LOVE YOUR BLOG AND STORIES. could you write about the first time blaine knew he loved kurt (before he actually said it?) just an idea. xx" and you said you wrote it but i can't find it to read again!!! do you still have it/ where is it? :) xx
I sure do! I had tagged you in it, so it was pretty simple to find! :)
wait a second, you live in vancouver? i'm not a stalker i just saw your instagram post NO Way man!
noooo i am only here as an exchange student!! i usually am found in either australia (during university term) or new zealand (at home with my family). it can get confusing sometimes, heh. sorry to disappoint!
Summary: The first time Blaine knew he loved Kurt, before he actually said it. (Prompt from partsofacamera). Basically all Blaine thoughts, character study. <3
If someone asked Blaine when he knew he was in with Kurt, and not when he said the actual words for the first time, they might get a different answer, depending on where Blaine was in his thought process of their relationship.
Blaine felt for a while that this was the moment he knew he was in love with Kurt, because as he looked at Kurt sing that song, without masking his emotions and with such beauty, his chest tightened. Inside, his heart was swelling and growing and wouldn't stop beating at an accelerated rate. His stomached dropped from under him, only to be replaced with butterflies, and in that moment, Blaine knew that he didn't see Kurt, his best friend, he saw Kurt. The man he wanted to be with. He wanted to reach out and touch him, kiss him, tell him how amazing he was everyday.
So of course, when Blaine and Kurt were together and Blaine looked back at that moment, after they had said "I love you" for the first time at the Lima Bean, he thought that this was the moment he knew.
Sometimes, he's not so sure that was the moment. Yes, it was the moment Blaine's eyes were opened to Kurt. The day he finally saw that they could be more than the best friends that they were; that it didn't have to be something to be screwed up, and that their relationship could be more. But love? Blaine isn't sure.
Blaine thinks back to the day that Kurt told him that he liked him, on the first Valentine's day they had spent together. The moment Kurt said that he thought Blaine wanted to sing to him, his heart stopped. Blaine wonders if back then, he knew what his feelings were for Kurt - but he was too afraid to say them. He was too afraid to rock the boat and ruin their friendship. But looking over at Kurt's earnest eyes, putting his heart on the line, Blaine knew there was something there.
Other times, he's sure it was an insignificant moment, like what prompted the actual words to fall from his lips.
Kurt laughing, his nose and eyes scrunched up in pure delight, his barriers down and letting himself go. In those moments, Blaine's heart would skip a beat, because it's when Kurt was the most beautiful (though he was always flawless). Blaine would remember the broken boy that he'd met, tormented by bullies and tears in his eyes, and think of how far Kurt has brought himself, and his heart would swell. Moments like that might have been the moment that he fell in love with Kurt.
Other times, still, all these moments don't even compare to the big moment that Blaine feels like is The Moment. The Moment he fell in love with Kurt.
Blaine is sure that he's loved Kurt since he turned around and saw him for the first time on the Dalton stair case.
When Blaine looked up at him, his heart had skipped, because Kurt was breathtaking, the light from the sun roof ceiling bathing him in a halo, his eyes sparkling and wide. Then his voice, clear and breathy, and Blaine wasn't sure a boy could ever be that perfect.
Then they touched, and Blaine had a thought that, in all honesty, he hadn't wanted to dwell on back then. When he had slipped his hand into Kurt's, it was simple:
This is what home feels like.
Time slowed, and Blaine knew now, that this was what love at first sight was.
It just took him so long to say the words; to name those feelings.
