Rix is a high class thief. The half elf loves to boast about her skills. Hand eye coordination, balance, stealth, cunning, with the occasional lethal combat. She’s escaped capture too many times to count. Outwitted many a knights and so called ‘geniuses’.

You’d think one damn little spider wouldn’t be giving her this hard of a time! At this point it was just personal. No matter what she threw at it it just wouldn’t seem to give up and die! And every time she got close to capturing it the damn thing would slip from between her fingers. 

Right now she was scooting a stool over to a corner where her eyes were trained on that little bugger on the ceiling. “Are you seriously that bored, where you wanna watch this instead?” Rix asked her not so welcomed guest. Though she didn’t dare give him an annoyed look in case she lost sight of this spider again.

Old Friends || Wol-Ryung & Edward

“Ry!” Edward said with a broad grin, practically bouncing out of the kitchen and across the empty restaurant to where his friend was standing just inside the door. “Good to see you, mate. It’s been too long, way too long. How have you been? Come on, come in properly, take a seat. Fancy a drink? Tea, coffee, something stronger? I’d offer something to eat but you’d have to wait for me to cook it so maybe later.” 

Eventually he paused to take breath. Everyone had said when they were kids that Edward would grow out of behaving like an excitable puppy but it had yet to happen.

Aleshia smiled as she carried to two plates of cake,watching her feet and being extra careful not to trip over anything. She knewit was her birthday, but it would be extra embarrassing if she managedto trip over and land on two slices of birthday cake. This would be her worstbirthday ever if that happened.

Eventually, she made it over to where Lucas was sitting withher brothers. Smiling, she took the empty seat beside Lucas and handed him oneof the plates.

“I made it over without stacking it.”

“Congrats.” Lucas smiled at her as he took the plate and fork,beginning to eat the dessert. His eyes lit up at the taste. “Wow, this isgood!”

Aleshia smirked at him. “What, never tasted good cakebefore?” she teased as she took a bite of her own slice of cake. “Allie bakesreally well, but Allie’s mom? That’s where Allie got all her skills from.She’s absolutely amazing at baking.” She just grinned as he continued tochow down on the cake, and nudged him gently with her shoulder. “Hey, thanksfor coming.”

Lucas smiled at the nudge, gently nudging her back. “Hey, it’sno problem. I had the day off work anyway, and I didn’t want to miss yourbirthday.”

“My birthday’s no big deal…”

“You’re having a party. It’s a pretty big deal.” Takinganother bite of the cake, he glanced over at her. “I definitely don’t recogniseall these aunts, though.”

“That’s because they’re related to Obed,” she responded,taking a bite of her own cake.

“Oh. Nice?”

“Nicer. Still nosy as heck, though. There’s no esca—ah!”Aleshia pouted as the paper plate slipped from her fingers, landing cake-downon the grass. “That was good cake…”

Lucas sighed, before holding out his plate to her. “You wantto share? It’s your birthday, after all.”

“What, I don’t get it all to myself?”

“I said it was your birthday, not your royal coronation.”

The dance was soft and slow, the work parties usually got more exciting half way through. She’d danced with Zeke and they’d started with a small distance between them until he’d gently pulled her in a little closer his arms just gently pulled her hips closer to him and she smiled. The two of them worked together well for some reason she couldn’t really understand but she liked it. “You trying to get me to step on your toes?” She joked as her arms drew in a little closer to him.

Victor slept peacefully at the table, books surrounding him in every direction. He didn’t snore. In fact, the only way you could tell he was sleeping and not dead was the rise and fall of his chest and subsequently his shoulders as well. The tap on his shoulder, however, was enough to get him to stir awake.

“Huh?” He mumbled, rubbing his eyes. “Hey, what’cha need buddy?” Victor asked when his vision of who it was became clear.

Amber gave Nikhil a blank stare, void of any expression. Yet that blank face was her expression. Miss Jackson was not amused. Pinching the space between her eyebrows Amber sighed. 

“You can’t just toss a drink on someone who’s being creepy,” Amber reprimanded, crossing her arms. “A. That’s a waste of money, Nikhil. And B. I can handle myself, I hope you realize that.” In all of this though, Amber did find his behavior a little charming, not that she would let him know that.

“Eleanor? Eleanor, are you home?”

When Eleanor had texted Ritesh to come over after work, he had thought it was some sort of emergency. Maybe not to the level of “my parents want to meet you again and have dinner with us” like last time, but it had certainly made his heartrate pick up a bit. As soon as he had determined his charge would be at least okay, he’d zipped off and headed straight into Eleanor’s flat, concerned at the silence.

Heading straight past the kitchen and down the corridor, he kept listening out for anything that sounded wrong or out of place. And nothing sounded out of place...

Except for light snoring.

He sighed when he realised it had happened again: Eleanor had texted for him to come over, but then before he actually arrived she’d fallen asleep. This was becoming more than a bit of a habit.

Not that he was complaining.

Heading straight for her room, he paused at the door at what he saw. Eleanor was asleep on top of the covers, yes, but this time she was curled around a teddy. That same Valentine’s teddy he’d got her for their first ever Valentine’s day as a couple. Just seeing her there... it made him smile.

He shut the door softly behind him and headed over to the bed, climbing on and embracing her gently in her sleep. She shifted a little, pulling the teddy closer and shuffling back into him.

“You’re warm,” she mumbled quietly.

He smiled and kissed the back of her neck. “You like it?”

“Yes.” She sighed softly. “Stay please.”

“Don’t worry, I’m not going anywhere.”
