An answer to her question
I think I am starting to understand the last scene of Sanditon 1x07. Yes Sidney tells her that he is his best self and truest self when he is with Charlotte and then ends it with "that is all" and leaves her to contemplate. And at first I was just "HOW CAN YOU SAY THAT AND THEN LEAVE?!"
This is kind of an answer to her earlier question "what is it you want from me?". To which he basically says "you" just not in those words exactly.
He then leaves, not waiting for her response, because he is still honoring her earlier wish "please be kind enough to leave me alone". But he had to tell her at least that much.
He gave her an answer and then will let her think on it. And let's be honest, he has been hurt before (screw you Eliza) and he does not know 100% how Charlotte feels. So Sidney only saying those few words is as much for him as it is for her. He does not want to be hurt again. He does not know that she feels the exact same he is feeling.
Ball is in your court Charlotte 😉
