Closing Time

With the conclusion of Season 7, everything has closed down for the foreseeable future. The league higher-ups made specifically sure of it.

The Augment Lab has been shuttered. No Motes, no Augments. All the equipment has been packed away. Nothing for us to do about it but pray we win something.

The Hall of Unmaking is locked behind a steel door, and the windows have been wrapped in plastic film. A real shame, because Pasketti Koda hasn't eaten a feast this big in years. She got so desperate that she resorted to vines, thorns, petals, inferiority, and muscular atrophy.

The Ballpark Villagers that happened to wander in and got recomposed were clearly not enough. I guess they don't read the fine print.

I wonder what makes Corruption so tasty. Perhaps our resident caracal is immune to the effects of Corruption? Hard to determine. I'm not going in there myself to get a closer look, even when the next season starts.

Something about this is fishy, though. I'll need to find what it is.

The Beauty of Efflorescence

Efflorescence. The middle stage in this natural cycle. A Player at their full potential. How exquisite.

I know Pasketti Koda would be starving to get her claws on the succulent stems and surging strength within my Players. But I shall not allow her any more easy meals. Wither is off the menu. Efflorescence is off the menu. The Hall of Unmaking goes hungry once more.

What is her purpose besides destruction? So simple-minded and short-sighted. "Registering the ballpark" must have only been a front. Disgusting. When I see her again...

Hold on. There are roses in the Hall of Unmaking.

Hazel... covered in the beauty of Efflorescence... right in the clutches of a caracal.

This shall persist no longer.

No one messes with the Efflorescence.

Team Corruption needs to pull itself together.

All of Urrlok's loyal followers are ready to Contain Corrupted Players. Players who may only be freed by paying a fee. I can't be around constantly to make sure my Players aren't getting into trouble.

A grisly future awaits my Benched Players if this Proclamation wins. There is only one way for them to catch up. I promised I would never let Pasketti Koda win.

But all this Beast-hunting and Corruption-reducing is getting to be... a bit much for them.

The caracal in The Hall of Unmaking hungers.

You might wonder why I care so much about the Tamper Proclamation. Simple. It doesn't affect the Greater League as much as it does the other two. The teams are too stingy with their Tokens to swap Benched Players or use Corruption Orbs.

Additionally... well... I never said I wanted Corruption to go down without a fight. This mysterious Grow Augment could really spice things up and encourage people to Purify without having to extort them for Tokens.

And besides... despite all the adverse effects of the Corruption... it's fun to feel powerful. Just for a moment.

My ballpark license is finally being processed. I had to speak with an official Baseball Village Contractor about all the details.

She sits in a grand stellar hall. One she knows I will never enter, so long as I live. This is her territory. Savanha-grass fur bristled against burning blue torches. The glow of digital bytes reflected in her glasses. The intent she has on taking things right from under me

Pasketti Koda gave me a few conditions under which she would approve Cardiovascular Castle as a Ballpark Village.

One, create a Clubhouse for the team to relax in. The team requires downtime, their own personal space, and somewhere more atmospheric than a locker room.

Two, allow Mother Quaelyth to open a branch of her curio shop on the premises. I do not know this person. I regret taking third-party offers. But she can directly help the Adventures.

And Three, let Koda stay in the Hall of Unmaking. It's an old indoor swimming pool that Koda added her own personal flare to. Koda radiates some... artificial fitness energy. She knows full well I am not throwing any of my players to the wolves. Or caracal, in this case. I've made myself clear on that.

Perhaps she knows something I do not. She's been alluding to how much influence she can put on the flow of fitness energy. How much she can shape it in her paws.

I believe we will see new Augments, new Boons, even, out of this season.
