Where are you heading off to? “We don’t know yet.” So what are you going to visit then? “We don’t know yet.” But which airline will fly you to your destination? “We don’t know yet.” [Giggling] … Meet our passengers of the day, lovebirds Evelyne & Aaron. They booked a trip to an unknow destination! Their holiday full of surprises started this morning in our departures hall. Just before take-off they found out they’ll spend their five-day holiday in Stockholm, where they will also celebrate Evelyne’s 25th birthday. Hip Hip Hooray! We’re quite sure the two of them will be amazed by the beauty of Sweden’s capital. Brussels Airport wishes them an unforgettable trip!

Say hi to Sara: a young, energetic and super enthusiastic girl who lives in Ghent, Belgium. Yesterday she packed her bag for a one-week trip - a little bit anxious - but totally ready for her first solo travel! Ryanair is flying her to Dublin, Ireland - “My main goal is meeting new people from other countries, so I’ll certainly stop at some cosy pubs. But I can’t leave Dublin without visiting the National Museum, strolling along the Cliffs of Moher and stopping by Jameson’s Distillery & the Guinness Storehouse. Doing this trip on my own is a big step for me, so I hope it’ll be an unforgettable experience that will lead to some beautiful memories and amazing friendships. Or if you want to think ‘Disney style’: maybe I’ll meet the love of my life?” :)

Today we welcomed this wonderful family from Turnhout (Antwerp). Els, André, Karlien and Sander went on a one-week trip to Jamaica. Not to relax or to discover the country, but to pick up Neisha, Sander’s wife! They met a few years back while Sander was on a holiday in Jamaica and got married 10 months ago. After almost a year of skyping and travelling back and forth, yesterday was the big day! Neisha packed her bags, waved off her home country, boarded a TUI Fly plane and came to Belgium with her husband. As from today they are starting their life together. Welcome (back) to Belgium!

Meet Diede: an adventurous girl living in Ghent, Belgium. She just flew in with Qatar Airways from Denpasar – Bali in Indonesia and talking about adventure… she made quite an impressive three-week trip. With her ticket ready and backpack neatly packed, she travelled solo to the other side of the world to discover Indonesia’s magnificent nature.

From the north to the south, to east and west - “I visited Bali, Lombok and three small islands in between: Nusa Penida, Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan. I explored 8 different places in total, met amazing people and enjoyed every second of my journey. One morning I left at about 6:30 am on a small scooter to visit a famous temple. I drove through picturesque villages, through the wild nature on small roads… I looked around me, stopped and turned off the engine. You could feel nature just waking up: a clear sky, the mighty active volcano ‘Agung’ nearby and dawn just breaking above the rice fields. Time stood still for a few moments over there. It was an incredible quiet and intimate moment, in all its tranquillity. A moment that I will cherish all my life.”

Today, we welcomed Jan and Jente to our airport. These two students from Antwerp deserve a little break - or so they claim - before the start of the academic year. In a few weeks, Jan will take off on his first year at university  and Jente starts his second year in electro-mechanics. Enough with the school talk! For now, they only have to worry about catching their Brussels Airlines plane to the Czech Republic. Once they arrive they’ll discover the old historic centre of Prague and of course its vibrant nightlife! Have fun guys!

Love is in the air! Today, Brussels Airport welcomed newlyweds Timothy and Annelies. Only a few hours ago the two sealed their love by saying “I do” and right now they are leaving on their honeymoon. Brussels Airlines is flying them to Venice, where they will enjoy their first few days as husband and wife. Timothy and Annelies decided to take a short trip so they won’t have to miss their daughter Elizabeth for too long. Brussels Airport congratulates the lovebirds and wishes them a lovely honeymoon!

Say hi to our passengers of the day! Mercedes and Guillermo, 2 Argentinians living in Mexico.

Although they love to live in Mexico, they will still support their home country Argentina in the upcoming FIFA World Cup in Russia. We agree. Belgium vs. Argentina would be a perfect final ;-).

TUI Fly flew Mercedes and Guillermo from Cancun to Brussels where they are waiting for their transfer to Barcelona to visit some friends. Guillermo has lived in Barcelona for a while, so he will be the perfect tourist guide for Mercedes ;-). We hope they have a great trip, have fun!

Welcome to our passengers of the day: Stefaan, Diede, Tim, Hans and Jeroen of punk rock band @charliebitmyfingermusic. Together with their dedicated roadies Eva and Stein, they are flying to Canada to go on tour! 11 days of music, road trips, festivals and backstage parties are awaiting them! First stop on the tour: Pouzza Fest in downtown Montréal. Charlie Bit My Finger is the first Belgian band ever to play at this punk rock festival. The band will also perform in Québec, Ottawa and Toronto.  We wish our punk rockers a lot of success with their international career! Enjoy Canada! And rock on :-)
