Do you remember when the "Belos is Luz's dad" theory was going around? TBH it was a theory I supported for a while.
Wild times
good LORD I remember those days. I remember going on AO3 and seeing a lot of the top fics being "belos is Luz's dad" fics. I'd just migrated over during the hiatus of The Dragon Prince where everyone was making a bunch of "Aaravos is Callum's dad" fics so. you can imagine my shock and confusion when I started seeing the same thing start up over here.
I say this affectionately but what is it with fandoms and making "what if the villain was the main characters parent" theories. guys this isn't star wars. star wars already did that twist we can put it away now
“You are the warmest place I know.”
He chuckled, a sound that was only barely above a whisper in the afternoon's glow and half lost in the roar of the tides as they rolled in and out just enough to catch the edge of his foot where it was planted to flex and keep the slow sway too and fro of the hammock steady. The space wasn't a large one, netting tangled like a cocoon, a small bubble of time and space just between the two of them.
"Me? You sure about that? Yu's got more fire to her." By no means a lie either, in fact he counted it as one of the best things about the other fae. In fact, between the three of them Cal saw himself as the least blazing. It could have been biased of course, people saw the world how they wished to when their vision was laced with stars and happiness; everything had a certain lovely glow.
"Maybe just a little warm, but I think it's the both of us." Because it always would be, not simply himself but the three of them was where the sunlit gleam came from. It was easy to forget now and then, the seas were a chilly sort of place, but all the more reason to sink into that pleasant sensation and set aside the rest of the day and all the thoughts that went with it. He stretched, yawned, never quite fit right in narrow spots with those too-long legs but neither of them cared much.
The shift offered Cal a change to hang one arm higher over the top of the netting and El to find that spot at his shoulder where he could feel the warmth of her alive and aligned with himself as they relaxed and did nothing at all with the daylight.
Sometimes it was better that way.
He talked, rambling circles about places and books and whatever else crossed his mind and she listened, as always, letting the words wash over her in his lazy tones like the humid air rising from the surf and drowning the both of them in the simplicity of existing inside that moment. When he'd run out of words and the tide had chased itself back out to sea neither noticed, the sunlight was still settled deep in their skin and wrapped around them like a blanket.
Days like that, Cal had decided, were going to make forever worth being around for and he still had so many to look forward to.
h en l o :3 in your abo au, does yuuri have any ex/es? Do the mates? If yes, what are their relationship with them? are they friends now or the exes (?) bitter?
Longer response, warnings for mentions of past partners, though y’all know what endgame is ^ ^; Non explicit mentions of sex warning.
Yuuri doesn’t have any exes, because his first romantic(?) partner was technically Phichit (even though they never explicitly called it that), and well, they never actually broke up ^ ^; And after that…well, more people are included in their growing relationship but no one’s ever dumped ^ ^;;; He’s very demi in this AU, doesn’t really have casual crushes, and only ever falls in love with people he’s very close to and loves platonically first. And well, given that he already has people, he’s never considered getting into a new relationship unless he’s completely and hopelessly in love with them first. Casual dating was never something he was interested in or could relate to.
Victor has a crapton of exes, because pre-meeting Yuuri he slept around a LOT. From his side, he didn’t consider any of them to be serious, rarely even remembers their names, but some of his ex-partners would beg to differ because he really wasn’t clear in communicating that to them. They were drawn to him because of his fame, beauty, and money; Victor used them for convenience and to temporarily dull his loneliness. It oftentimes ended super messily, super flashily, and digging through gossip magazines will bring up countless nasty breakups/scandals. Some of these ex-lovers pop up occasionally and try to cause trouble, pre-marriage because they think Victor’s tying himself to an unfavorable union having to share his mate and that he really can do better, and post-marriage because they grossly misunderstand their polyamorous marriage and assume that if Yuuri gets to “sleep around,” then Victor can too.

Looking at some artwork, what do you think Goofy, Peg and Pete were like in High school, do you think they could've held a movie or special?
From what I've seen, Goofy and Peg were probably pretty similar in temperament, but less responsible and, in Peg's case, more likely to give into temptation. Pete, on the other hand, is implied to have been MORE attentive and caring in the past.

"Okay okay! Next one! My turn!"
The two girls sat cross-legged in front of each other on the ledge of the large fountain in the middle of the mall. The awkward young girls traded a folded up piece of notebook paper between themselves, one girl slipping her fingers into the back of the "cootie catcher". It was their usual spot to meet after classes- to discuss business of the day regarding what gossip was deemed worthy enough for debate and turning the rumor mill of St. Elizabeth's School for Troubled Girls. For now the two busied themselves with looking over what they had managed to nick from poorly watched shops in the mall, sharing a soft pretzel and playing with the all-knowing, all-seeing fortune telling folded paper.
October looked to the choices on the paper written in different colored marker- the outer choices were numbers, inner were colors, and the secrets inside held irrevocable truths she had figured during third period English. She had to pick wisely before she even asked her question- one that weighed heavily on her shoulders for what felt like an eternity. Not about the upcomming track meet, not about the math test that wednesday- no, this was of utmost importance.
"Does Kianoosh Godžari from St. Elmer's like me?"
The question caused the girl across from her to give a teasing low, flicking some of her brunette hair from her face as October gave her a light shove.
"He's cute okay?? And he runs SUPER fast!" October spoke on her own defense. "Green,"
"He is kinda cute I guess. But you could do better. He's a jerk," the other girl scoffed, opening the Cootie catcher for another choice. October chose 4.
"A CUTE jerk,"
"He could look like Liam Hemsworth and STILL be ugly with that attitude. You should try...Hye Armbayan," the girl spoke the name with dramatic conviction, causing October to laugh.
"Now HE is a nerd!"
The two girls continued to giggle and tease, fully immersed in their own little world of careless gossip- and for a brief moment in time, the world made sense.
🔮
The sound of sloshing water from the bathroom sounded just enough out of place for October to take notice as she returned home from school. She walked through the messy motel room- past the unmade bed where usually her mother could be found only to see it was empty. She set her patched and mended backpack and pumpkin pail down by where her own bedding was- though 'bed' was moreof a nest of blankets and sheets kept separate from the rest of the room via threadbare children's cartoon bedsheet acting as a privacy curtain. She peered past the sheet in hopes of still seeing the small litter of sickly kittens she had found the other day- she had even pilfered a small baby bottle and some milk to feed them and hopefully nurse them to health. The microwave box they had been staying in was gone, and the sloshing sound grew more distressing.
The door to the bathroom was cracked open, and October was able to only see a small portion of her mother's bruised and skeletal back from the crack as she knelt down to the shallow tub. Carefully, reluctantly, October approached just as the woman fished another little kitten from the box and held the mewling creature under the water.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" October shrieked, rushing over to try and rescue the small animal, seeing three more in the bottom of the water motionless beneath the slight waves of the disturbed bath water. The woman snatched the animal back with a frown of disgust towards the child.
"Only killing what you can't take care of. Better for them," she spoke coldly. "Better than letting em suffer," she took the last kitten out, or what October hoped was the last one, and held it under as the child cried pitifully. She could still see the small creatures when she closed her eyes, she thought that image would never go away.
"Wish I could do that to you,"

《《 She couldn't tell how late it was, or early- she knew it was dark outside due to the lack of muffled light attempting to shine through the tattered towels and strips of aluminum foil covering the solitary window of the motel room. The sight of the door alerted the small, grubby child to someone coming home- figuring it to be her mother with some john or drug friend looking for a place to crash. Assuming this, the five-year-old wordlessly gathered up her Carebear blanket and a small metal "Chock Full 'o Nuts" can.
To her surprise, a lone man stood there, stern faced with sharp eyes and missing his right arm. He looked surprised to see the child there, which then shifted to a look of disgusted anger, then defeat. The man offered a small smile and knelt down.
"Hey sweetie, whats your name?" He asked. The child remained silent, staring at his moving lips blankly.
"How old are you?" He asked again. She held up five fingers. The man's smile faltered again.
"That makes you a big girl hmn? I see your mom's not home- she said you'd be here though. She's in a lot of trouble, I need to take you to her, okay?"
The child merely nodded, wordlessly following the man out of the motel room with her blanket and 'friend' asleep in the metal coffee bin. 《《
