ff + pit and shantae

“ Oh... a story with me and Shantae, huh? ”

“ Heh... this kinda makes me think of how I haven’t seen her in a while. But, hey, it’ll be cool to see a story between us! So, here goes...! ”

And he begins reading the story, unaware of what’s ahead.

... And cue the embarrassed squawking as he sees what’s ahead.

“ Sh... Shantae, th... wh... who wrote this?! ”

... Pit, this is the part where you put the story down.Pit. Down.

“ You’re- ”

His initial response was interrupted as he felt Shantae’s lips gently press on his cheek, his cheek quickly turning red at the feeling. This wasn’t the first time he’s felt it and it still felt awkward for him.

“ Uh... you’re welcome! Had to celebrate Valentine’s Day, after all! ”

He seemed half awkward, half fairly pleased with himself. Mostly awkward, though.

Hearing what she asked of him next... well, he could say he didn’t expect that question. Er... well, he knew his mind was going ahead of him, but it didn’t change that... well, his mind was there.

“ Uh... yeah, totally! I’d be happy to help! Uh... lead the way! ”

Boy was the awkwardness there.

 There’s an undignified scoff as arms cross almost childishly. ‘I’m not old,’ and he states this as fact when the not-quite-Reploid knew for a fact that he was possibly older than X. What made her comment worse was that Zero most definitely felt old, but one would possibly feel old from having died so many times and haphazardly place each body part together in a barren wasteland (but he wasn’t going to admit nor say that). ‘I’m still young.’

Granted, the only impressive aspect of it was Penny herself, her partner less so. Never mind those Beacon students she had fought.

“…You know what? I change my mind.” Without much grace, she let X drop on the ground in front of her.

She was looking to surprise him, and show off the fact that, to her, he wasn’t much heavier than a bunch of grapes. Then he had to go and make it awkward. She seriously couldn’t figure him out sometimes.

“Oof!” And metal butt collided with metal floor with a CLANG. X didn’t even pick himself up from the ground; he just looked up at her with the saddest puppy dog eyes he could muster (though there was a smile trying to creep its way onto his lips, and he was doing his best to resist).

“Aaw, you’re not happy to see me?” Pout pout pout. See if you can resist that, huh.

“Uwhaa?!” X exclaimed eloquently as he was lifted into the air. They were in HQ, so of course there was no danger, but what?

Turning to see his ‘assailant,’ he immediately broke into an embarrassed but heartfelt grin.

“Ah, Alia, are you going to have this kind of reaction every time you see me now?” The genial question was accompanied by a laugh and a slight wiggle.
