Pat O'Brien as Hildy Johnson, Mae Clarke as Molly, and George E Stone as Earl Williams in The Front Page (1931). In Howard Hawks' 1940 remake, His Girl Friday, Hildy was played by Rosalind Russell, with Helen Mack as Molly, and John Qualen as Earl.

George was born in Lodz, Poland, and had 190 acting credits from 1927 to two 1963 episodes of 77 Sunset Strip. George was Toothpick Charlie in Some Like it Hot and was in 46 episodes of Perry Mason.
