TITLE: "Patapan" ARTIST: The Robert Shaw Chorale DATE: circa 1972
FUN FACT: The song was composed by French poet Bernard de la Monnoye in 1720 in the Burgundian dialect, although it has since been translated into other languages. "Pat-a-pan" is onomatopoeia referring to the joyful sounds of a drum celebrating Christ's birth, and inspired the later Christmas carol "Little Drummer Boy."
