I tend to neglect this blog, at least I have lately. With that, I wanted to give a quick update on what has been going on (in some instances what hasn’t been going on) and talk about some upcoming things.
Perhaps it’s more accurate to just put this in the past tense, but yes these are things that happened. First, the Santa Ana Patchwork Show was awesome, despite the rain. I sold a ton of smaller pieces, so I’m glad my chopped up comics have new homes. I did a giveaway with a bin of $1 comics, one of which included a certificate for a $75 collage and yes I did have a winner. It made for a bit of extra fun at the event. Below is the winner Josh.
We also recently went to Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge. It’s really amazing. I did a few videos on the experience. You can find them on my YouTube channel, with more videos to come (at least one more, maybe more).
I haven’t had time to write my weekly Retro Reviews for the Grand Geek Gathering, caring for my daughter really takes away virtually all of my free time and in the past, I sort of got out ahead of the reviews. I’d write a bunch when I had time and just sort of revise and post. Unfortunately, I haven't’ had time to do that. I hope to find a process to support my friends at the Gathering and steady my output.
First, hopefully, I’ll resolve the issue with my Retro Reviews. I do have some ideas on how to make it more productive and more interesting for myself and my readers.
We will be heading back to Batuu next week for another visit to Galaxy’s Edge. I will likely have more videos as a result. Regardless, I’m excited because it will be at night and having been there at dusk, I know it will be stunning after dark.
I’ll have another Comicollage craft fair, with Patchwork Long Beach. So come out on June 23rd. I have a bunch of new smaller pieces for the show and will be doing the giveaway once again.
Finally, I’m excited to go home to see my family and most of all meet my newest niece, Jael. We’ll see you soon Pittsburgh!
