Apple Sues Samsung Over Patent Suit Patent Suits Worn by Lawyers

In the latest chapter of the Apple v. Samsung patent trials saga, Apple is suing, claiming that Samsung is copying their patent suits. No, this isn't regarding the patent suit that comes to mind when speaking in legalese, but the actual suits worn by the lawyers themselves. If there's any truth behind this, it might a genius move by Samsung's legal team; if the judges cannot discern between the devices or the lawyers, it could bring mass confusion to the courtrooms. The legal action against Samsung, which was filed last Thursday, reads:

"The Apple legal counsel cannot adequately represent the interest of the company's patent suits while its team's patent suits bear a striking, indistinguishable resemblance to the patent suits worn by opposing counsel."

Basically, Apple is attempting to patent their patent suits. Samsung is preemptively countersuing in other countries. We didn't know either of these were possible.

Samsung has filed In Australia and Germany. The Australian judge has agreed to hear the case, but has stipulated that "Moving forward, any mention of patent suits must be properly and explicitly identified as to which type of patent suit is being discussed. Legal patent sutes will be referred to as 'patent legal suits' while the threaded variety must be labeled 'patent pants suits'."
