I just reread the first book "Jedi Quest: Path to Truth" after many years.
You can start counting Anakin's lies, as well as disobeying orders.
Now the facts.
Anakin lied to his Master twice and disobeyed a direct order twice.
He lied that he had independently assembled his lightsaber in the cave of Ilum. (In fact, the finished lightsaber was handed to him by Sith vision)
He lied that he didn't know anything about the pirate Krayn.
(Krayn raided slaves on Tatooine when Anakin was 7 years old. Since then, Anakin hated him and dreamed of destroying him)
He disobeyed Obi-Wan's orders that they should immediately escape from the pirate ship, because Anakin wanted to free the local slaves here and find Krayn to destroy him.
He ignored Obi-Wan's request not to kill Krayn, and Anakin, with a full sense of justice and rightness, killed him. It was more of an execution than self-defense.
Anyone who still remembers the «Jedi Apprentice» book series can imagine what Qui-Gon would have done to Obi-Wan for such behavior at the age of 13.
The irony is that Qui-Gon was quite tough and demanding towards Obi-Wan. And the result was a highly moral, noble Jedi.
Obi-Wan was overly patient with Anakin. He turned a blind eye to his shortcomings, justified all his weaknesses and unworthy actions. And he suppressed all his suspicions about him inside himself. The result was Darth Vader.
Thoughts about the book Jedi quest - path to truth : Clone Wars Zygerria flashbacks with the difference that Anakin is the one who has to work as a slave and Obi-Wan is the one who tries to find him.
This slave theme really is an often used theme in the Star Wars universe.
