Wait wait wait. Why is it so horrible that Cecil and Dana get married? Cecil would take his valet with him and everyone's happy, right?
I actually wanted to include this in the last chapter but it never fit in anywhere without the end being totally obvious so it's gonna be in the next one but also here.
Cecil's father's infidelity had a huge impact on him growing up. He knew what it was like to have a father who cared more about his affairs than his family, and one who so clearly didn't value him or his mother. He saw how much it hurt his mother until she was almost a shadow of herself.
And early on he promised himself that he would never do anything like that. Once he got married- once a child entered the equation- that was it. He was going to be faithful. He'd never do that to his wife. Even one like Dana, who knew about his homosexuality. He considers marriage the holiest of bonds, and to tarnish that with cheating is unforgivable.
So basically, once he and Dana are declared man and wife, that's it. It's done. And Carlos probably won't stay with him- once Cecil can't be with him, most likely it would hurt too much to stay in his employment, or Cecil would ask him to leave to avoid temptation.
