I saw you answering a question about S4 (well, GO vs. Sherlock S4) and I was wondering if you can answer mine. What happend with the S4? What happened to all the "best plot ever!" and "watch, there are elefants in the room"? Because after watching S4 I just shut it all down and never watch an episode again. So I though after two years maybe someone know if it was all just a big joke, something like "here you are, you fools and leave us alone now"...
*hugs* Yeah, I get you on the “shutting down after S4″ thing; I know many people who have and it’s a miracle I hadn’t done the same. I think it’s because I decided to focus on fandom rather than show and pretend S4 didn’t exist. I still enjoy theorizing, as I also came up with a few theories on why S4 sucked, but in the end, especially the longer they go on not acknowledging whether or not they’re going to continue (at this point, to ME and my it’s my PERSONAL OPINION, it feels like they’re dragging that out so that they can still market the brand for their planned US Escape Room... brand recognition and all that), it’s still queerbaiting when you openly admit you used homoerotic subtext to draw in an audience. I think they should have given themselves more time between TAB and S4, but I understand they did it because of Freebatch’s filming schedules being tied up in the (at the time) near future. In that sense, then, it really feels like the series was rushed (I mean, look at all the errors on the surface level they had), rather than a “secret plot” happening below the surface reading.
I just think that, if they did indeed have a secret episode or something else planned, it should have been released by now. It could be they’re waiting until 2020 or 2022 when a chunk of the remaining copyrights expire, but they could or should have given some indication that they are for certain continuing on. I don’t know. I remain hopeful, but like I said, it’s healthier to not hold your breath and enjoy what we have, continue speculating because it’s fun, but remember that their primary interest right now seems to be Dracula which is not a “cover” for anything, since they do have actual actors signed on to it. :P
