The Forest - a 200k word story - is now complete!!

I finished my original story The Forest last month! I don't think I ever mentioned it here, but I ended up creating a whole language for it - this month's post is my full creation & translation guide. I'm unreasonably proud of it. Eym femë aeyítekӓithfem!! (So many words!!)

 Surprise! If you haven’t already seen @ninjaduelist‘s post, we’re doing a big event to celebrate our third Patreon anniversaries! It’s a collaboration between me, Ninjaduelist...and you!

The event will go on for three months. Essentially, all of our patrons are going to help us create characters from the ground up, and write their story! April will be all about character creation. Our patrons will help Ninjaduelist design the characters - so we’ll be able to see what they could look like right from the start! As we get a better idea of who they are, we'll be asking our patrons what kind of story you would love to see between them. We’ll be doing all of this through Google Forms, and a couple of livestreams :>

Basically, our schedule looks like:

Character Design Poll: April 3 - April 15

Character Design Stream (Ninjaduelist's Channel): April 23 or 30th (dependent on poll responses)

Story Poll: May 1 - May 15

Story Writing Period: May 16 - June 30 (open depending on story complexity!)

Story Stream (My Channel): May 20th, 2PM EST & June 16, 2PM EST

You can join either of our Patreons for as little as $1 a month, and we’d love to have you! I can’t sing Ninjaduelist‘s praises enough, if you’ve been here long enough, you are very much used to this. I’m on her patreon; there is so much gorgeous art on there, you can vote on what you want to see and watch timelapses - all sorts of goodies. As for my Patreon, we currently have a Choose-Your-Own Adventure Event going on through the month of April - all possible routes will be posted by the end of the month, but you can vote on which route you’d like to read first. Wow! Friends! What a busy month!! I don't know where it's gone at all. We jumped right in from one event to the next on over on Patreon, and I'm all in on writing our Anniversaryx3 story as we speak - which is in celebration of the third anniversary of my Patreon, and will be up next month. I can’t believe it’s been three years already! That's such a big milestone!! I'm going to get all ramble-y and grateful if I don't rein it in - next month! I'll get all teary-eyed in June :> (But just know I have so much love for everyone who supports me in any way you can and am so happy and grateful to be able to do this!)

But I digress! this month, we ran the plot survey for our Anniversaryx3 event, our big collaboration with @ninjaduelist​! We finalized some things about our characters and created a whole lot of new ones! We have the names, we have the world, we have the basis of their relationship, and I'm taking it from there. Check out the pictures if you’re interested in meeting Aki & Silas!

A whole lot of that was established over on our stream, so thank you so much to those of you that could make it!! I'm still not used to writing with an audience, but it's so fun when I get you all involved. I'd love to do it more often. Alongside all that, we still had our regularly scheduled Forest section (this time with Fae and Lola!), I posted some of my favourite words as prompts, asked for two different ideas, posted up some rough notes for this month's section of The Forest, and went on a big ramble about all the things that help me write. I also got a new puppy! Not writing related, but!!! Lots to be excited about this month :>

Phew, what a year! I tried to do a lot more new stuff, and a lot more fun stuff. I’ve attempted to look back on more than just word counts here, so it’s a little messy :> But this year has been busy & chaotic, and I’m grateful to have been able to write as much as I have.
