I wanted to take a minute to talk about Peacock and why I really appreciate her as a character. She was one of the first instances in modern animation and gaming where a character directly referenced in cartoon history that I really enjoyed from an aesthetic perspective. I loved her personality and for the longest time she was the only part of the game that I liked, I've since then changed my point of view and there are many things that I enjoy about Skullgirls now, but she is still my favorite. From a personal perspective, she's always struck me as presenting herself to be pretty masculine, despite the dress. She quotes a lot of male cartoon characters and Carries herself in a pretty masculine manner. I can understand that she would have an impact four girls, but to me as a trans man I look at her and I see a character who Embraces their masculine side. I'm currently working on a male Peacock cosplay. Part of that is because I do have a very fragile sense of my masculinity, comes with the territory. But also so I feel like it's a good celebration of the character in a unique fashion and from a perspective that I would be able to speak about. I really appreciate peacock and all that this character is done for me, she is a huge inspiration for a character in the book that I am currently writing.
