Bastila for the headcanon meme :o
Bastila’s more critical of the Jedi than people think.
At the beginning, everybody thinks she just does whatever the Council tells her and never questions anything. That she believes everything she says to keep Revan in line. It’s not true. There’s so much more to Bastila than the front she puts up - together, obedient, unquestioning. She does have questions, and doubts. Lots of them. And she doesn’t always agree with the Jedi, doesn’t always make herself agree.
I really think she knew right away that what they did to Revan was bad. She didn’t want it to happen and didn’t want to be a part of it. She knew it was wrong. But she was pressured to go along with it, and it was war time - it seemed necessary. So she did her job, but she had her own opinion the entire time.
Headcanon B: while it may not be realistic it is hilarious
I like the idea that she picks up a habit of swearing from Revan and everyone is really surprised and amused. They don’t expect Miss Model Jedi to say ‘fuck.’ Especially since Bastila herself isn’t really phased by it.
Headcanon C: heart-crushing and awful, but fun to inflict on friends
Bastila is a good example of a really wonderful person who has no idea how wonderful they are. Her masters made a point not to praise her too much, and I think she’s very insecure. Very lonely.
I think Revan’s the first person (besides maybe her family) that made her truly feel valued and special and like she mattered beyond her value to the war effort or as a Jedi prodigy or whatever.
Headcanon D: unrealistic, but I will disregard canon about it because I reject canon reality and substitute my own.
I’ve talked about this before but I think Bastila was directly trained by the Dantooine Council instead of a single master. irrc there’s no mention of who, specifically, taught her, and it makes sense to me. The Jedi were overprotective, and after Revan, after the Exile, I think they were Extremely Careful with their prodigies. Being trained by the Council reduces the potential for attachment to one master, allows her to be supervised by multiple teachers, and allows the Council to control her training without overburdening any one of them.
