INCREDIBLE!!!
New favorite composer; Patrick Hawes - Love's Promise
Goddess Of The Woods <3 Just beautiful. I can't express in words how much I love this and want to learn the piano parts.
As I was lazing around in bed yesterday morning listening to Classic FM, I came across a composer that I hadn't heard of before called Patrick Hawes. (Probably because he's a modern composer and not very well-known.) They were playing a piece from his Highgrove Suite and I had chills the whole way through, so I decided to do some googling and YouTubing.
All I can say is wow. I'm not usually a fan of modern composers but Hawes is something quite exceptional. I must have listened to about ten different pieces by him and each one managed to move me in a way that only a few classical pieces can do. I love finding new composers that I instantly fall in love with. The video I've posted is called Sanctuary and it's from his Highgrove Suite. It's absolutely beautiful- enchanting, even. The build from the 2.30 mark to its peak is exquisite. I wish his work was more widely recognised- it deserves to be.
I really hope you'll listen to this piece. Close your eyes. Forget. Breathe.
I just wanted to make a quick post about Patrick Hawes. He’s a living British composer, and has written some of the prettiest music I’ve ever heard. There’s a really disappointing amount of his work on YouTube, so I thought I’d learn and record some pieces from his album ‘Towards The Light’. The piece in the link is entitled ‘Pavane’ and is a piano arrangement of a film theme he wrote. If you enjoy that, then I urge you to go and listen to the fully orchestrated version too. I’ve also done a recording of me playing one of his solo piano pieces.
I’d really like to get the message around about this guy, his music is so good to relax to!
