I love when Patrick is all wired on Dew, he gets Dorito fingerprints all over the pages he printed out for Mark and Courtney and Courtney’s just like, “Gross! You got Dorito fingerprints all over these!”

I think my next Pendragon fan fiction project will be to take the books Patrick was in, and write his scenes from his POV, like writing out his journals. That should be fun!

Patrick wasn’t happy.

“I’m sorry, man,” I added with sympathy. “It’s where you can be the most help.”

Poor Patrick. He wanted to go with Pendragon and Alder and help, but he knew he wasn’t a fighter like Bobby or Alder, and that he could better help them from Third Earth. It was like in Never War, how he wanted to go with Bobby and Gunny to First Earth. He always wanted to help, even though he’s not a warrior.

In the car, I told Patrick everything that had been going on. About the record. And the book. And To Kill a Mockingbird. And how Mary Elizabeth never asked any questions. And all Patrick said was, “It’s too bad you’re not gay.”
