A favorite poem, by Patrick Overton:
When you walk to the edge of all the light you have
and take that first step into the darkness of the unknown,
you must believe that one of two things will happen: There will be something solid for you to stand upon, or, you will be taught how to fly.
I've come back to this poem at various times when I'm facing problems or obstacles in my life. It sounds at first reading like a strictly Christian poem, but I'm Pagan, and it means a lot to me, too.
It reflects the sort of thing I pray to my deities about: help me through this, help me survive this, show me the right way, guide me, show me the path I should be on, help me get back to a place of happiness and security, etc.
Maybe it might inspire you, too.
