Okay….??? I believe in those very strongly worded phrases which promise misfortunes???????
I only gave you a factual statement about how the ancient Egyptians did not have “curses” the way we perceive curses in our society.

I’m a studying archaeologist and I’m sorry but I’m not as well educated specifically on this as you, if there’s a specific name for those phrases that isn’t a curse that’s fine, but I’m not aware of it and I also consider the term curse to be very lenient
No need for that kind of tone. Again I was only stating a fact. If you consider the term curse to be very lenient that’s fine, but you’ll also have to accept that others may not agree with you on this.

Sorry if this sounds kind of mean but the way you said that sounded kind of rude
I wasn’t being rude. I did not attack you or your beliefs personally.

I don’t understand why you would reblog a post, since you are a trusted source, which has an actual few paragraphs citing two egyptian “curses” if that is not what they are.
We’ll use the term “curse” coloquially because that’s how most people know them thanks to Victorian dipshits. The post this was referring to very clearly states that the idea of Egyptian curses that make you die mysteriously are a Victorian invention driven by spite, colonialism and racism.
I guess thanks for calling me a trusted source, but if we have to mince our words around everything we say, our blogs will very quickly devolve into academic-only spaces because we couldn’t make shitposts anymore.
Your problem is that you seem unable to discern between us giving out factual information, and us dicking around and being nobs. We can do both.
art theft is art theft. unfollowed ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I prefer to consume potatoes whole and uncooked 👌👌
#SoulPunkDay
Hello! So it's almost #SoulPunkDay so if you have a Twitter, just tweet a photo of Patrick from one of his Soul Punk era days or maybe just a trivia and put the hashtag #SoulPunkDay. #SoulPunkDay will happen at his birthday (yep, also the release of the new FOB era) so we would want for you to us to support this project to show Patrick how amazing and beautifully well written Soul Punk is. Because as you all know, Soul Punk got a lot of hate and also Patrick has been body-shame on one of his concerts where so-called "fans" yells at him and saying "WE LIKED YOU BETTER FAT" and they asked to play FOB songs. That's why we need to show Patrick how amazing he is in his Soul Punk era and it's really beautiful because he poured all his efforts to it in just one beautiful album. So don't forget #SoulPunkDay!! And don't forget to spam it on the exact day!

As a kemetic, I believe in these curses… but that’s based on religion and the actual time and care I put into it. if we’re talking ways ppl are racist as fuck about the ancient Egyptians let’s talk about how many ppl love to say the aliens built the pyramids
The ancient Egyptians had no curses though
patrickvaughnstump replied to your post: Non-Spooky Versions of Ancient Egyptian Terms 101
The post: here are some curses you: reblogs in support Me: so those curses- You, as if this is my mistake: AAAAAA
Jesus Christ, can you relax mate? I don’t know why you think I’m out for you personally but I really, really am not.
Here’s what was actually going on.
The post: Egyptian curses as portrayed by Victorian fucknuggets are not real and also the idea comes from a place of colonialism/racism The post, addition: further explains this. adds actual Egyptian threat formula, uses the colloquial term “curse”. Me: haha, funny. I can laugh about curses because fuck Victorians amirite Also me: here’s another factual statement about curses and also a shitpost haha.
Again, I did not come for you, stop acting like I did.
