In the middle of the night, our entire tent woke up to the heartbreaking screams of my one-and-a-half-year-old daughter, Salma. She was crying in a way we had never heard before. A few moments later, we noticed blood on her foot, and when we looked into the corner of the tent, we found a large rat that had bitten her while she was sleeping.
