Keep on thinking about Quintus Smyrneaus. Absolute beast of a last name. Wrote about Achilles and Penthesilea and I mentioned him in my classics exam.
Specifically the fact that he uses the same word for ‘mad’ about Penthesilea going to fight Achilles as Homer does about Patrokles wearing Achilles’ armour, and that “Achilles felt as much love and grief as when Patrokles died” at Penthesilea’s death.
Served me well when talking about how the Amazons were compared to the Ancient Greek heroes so clearly were not entirely different. And also like damn. P-named people and Achilles do not mix.
