6. lazy morning kisses before they’ve even opened their eyes, still mumbling half-incoherently, not wanting to wake up
Early morning was one of the few moments in the Commons that was quiet. No loud drums of motorbikes driving like at night, and no cheers and yells from duels like in the afternoon. The only noise came from an occasional bike to work, or a passing bird. Silence was copper.
Shinji had to get up. It was one of the rare days he was able to stay overnight, and Crow was overjoyed. A bit too overjoyed somewhat. Shinji rubbed his tired eye, and tried to sit up, weight pulling him back onto the dingy mattress. Sleep heavy, he assumed, but felt a strong weight baring on his chest. And shoulder. And cr-
“Babe,” Shinji whispered to the snaking Crow, “let go of me please.”
He always did nest heavy when Shinji was home. Crow, who rested his head on Shinji’s shoulder blade, rubbed his face into the soft flesh of Shinji’s exposed chest. “Nooooo,” Crow whispered, turning more into a whine as he clamped tighter on his husband. “Sleep.”
The fatigue still ran deep in Shinji’s bones, so he blinked a little and yawned before trying anymore. “I need to go to worrrrrrrrk,” Shinji whispered, placing kisses into Crow’s messy hair, Crow leaning up a little to give him the chance to kiss his head like he wanted.
As polite the gesture, Crow didn’t comply. “It’s warm with you.” He nuzzled deep into Shinji. “Don’t leave your brood hen.“
One arm, the one that Crow wasn’t shoving to his chest, was free. Shinji placed his thumb on Crow’s chapped, yet slightly soft, bottom lip. “Do I need to get you a body pillow for when I’m away?”
Crow kissed the thumb and opened his eyes, looking up to his husband. The sleep drunk smile plastered his face as a drowsy dew coated his eyes “Humping a pillow isn’t nearly as fun as you though.”
Pulling the now somewhat awake Crow up to his face, he gave the man a sweet kiss. “I know dear. Nothing could possibly replace either of us.”
