40. Getting lost somewhere
“So if we take this turn we’ll be by the- wait…” Alito stared at the zoo directory for a bit, Gilag right behind him. “Gilag, where ARE we?”
Gilag peered in, looking directly at the ‘you are here’ sticker. “I’m not sure.”
The two made their first mistake agreeing to Vector’s “surprise Barian Family Trip to the zoo”. Both Durbe and Mizael didn’t even show up, and Nasch immediately bailed to see the sharks. And only the sharks. Vector claimed he might be there all day and nobody should worry about him. Rio was either with him, or looking at penguins. No one was sure where Vector went, but Rio suggested he’s at the petting zoo. Either terrorizing the goats, or hogging the bunnies. Something about innocent rabbits calms the malicious creature inside of him.
Alito and Gilag however, went to look for the kangaroos. They heard about them watching a nature documentary, and Alito wanted to see one kick another in person. Or fight one himself. Would the zookeepers allow that? Gilag just wanted to see a joey fitted in a pouch. That was enough for him.
Firmly, Alito tapped at the sign. “The picture of the ‘roos is here.” His hand slid to the image of the entrance. “And this is where we are.” He crossed his arms. “Now what.”
Gilag looked around. “Well, there are rhinos nearby, where are they- Alito?” Gilag was cut off by Alito running past him, looking at the rhino. He gushed the only two facts he (and Gilag) knew about them, as Nasch refused to let them watch more than an hour of the Discovery Channel a day (outside of Shark Week, which the tv was not to be switched from the station)
“The rhino reminds me of you!” Alito said with a bright smile.
“Really?” Gilag asked, tilting his head. “Why?”
Alito gestured his hands around like he was creating an imaginary bubble. “They’re big and tough, but they’re really cute and sweet!” He turned to Gilag. “Like you!”
Gilag blushed. No one ever called him cute. Probably from how tall he was. “So, back to the map?”
The two headed back. “Maybe we can drag someone who actually knows how to read over to help us.”
