Wishful thinking

That Patsy arrived in Hong Kong, her father immediately expired and thereupon she turned around, immediate boarded a ship bound for England in such a desperate hurry that she forgot to even write. The obit. Was written by a staff member or long since set in stone by Mr. Mount himself and word only reached the papers with an erroneous date stating two weeks ago and Patsy's actually on her way to Delia now and everything's going to be okay. Delia goes to Gateways for solace, gets trashed, almost but doesn't make a bad choice and staggers home to find an anxious Patsy in her room. Delia cries, they (hopefully) kiss, and I have enough to keep me going until December.

WE GOT SO MUCH AND YET SO LITTLE

I'm saying it. I don't think it's going to be a happy episode for Patsy and Delia. This saddens me, but I think that's how it's going to go. Justifiably from Delia's perspective, she is going to be damn angry that she never got a letter and that Patsy just disappeared . I suspect that Patsy might have a bit of a depressive bout where she's there but she's not there and it's going to hurt. Especially so for Delia to have her back in body but not in self. I want the big happy reunion so much, but I feel like it's not coming. More so now that I've seen the Kate Lamb quote.

So here's my CTM theory for Patsy's absence

For a good long while there, the suggestion was that Chummy (Miranda Hart) was coming back to the show for a few episodes arc. 

I would imagine that if the offer for someone to take a bit of leave came up it made sense for both actress and character that it was Emerald Fennell. 

For the actor, with her steadily building and developing writing career it gave her time to dedicate to writing her adult novel and promoting her YA books. 

For the character, she is an emotional vault who has a lot of demons to deal with and this allows us to see her soften and feel truly vulnerable, finally vocalise her love for Delia, while also learning more about her family. 

My guess is that this was the plan that was put in place; then when Miranda pulled out at the last minute, it was a much smoother transition to write in the temporary nurse we've seen than to rewrite entire chunks of the series, disrupting multiple story arcs. Just a theory. I'm still not okay after that episode. *sniff*

I'm so upset we didn't get a kiss but I'm so glad that we saw them working together through penny's delivery

I'm begging anybody with the ability to do so, please make a video of all of the scenes that featured Patsy or Delia! I need to watch this on a loop when I should be so other things and obsess!
