The Rose logo hat
I have fallen hard for The Rose and actually saw them perform live in Toronto last December at Kpop North. They sounded phenomenal live and they played my favourite songs - Candy and Take Me Down for anyone who cares. I originally wanted to wear this hat to the convention, but I didn’t manage to finish in time. Hopefully they come to Canada again and I can wear one of these hats then...or maybe just to the next Kpop North convention since it was so much fun.
The hat is knit from the bottom up so it is easy to make adjustments as you go. I used up some leftover yarns for this project which is why the pink and green yarn have vague descriptions. To be honest, I don’t remember what project those two yarns are from - maybe a kit I scavenged yarn from for something else? I do think colour work like this is great for using up bits and pieces left over from other projects - at least they make me feel less bad about all the yarn I have. The yarn is in the light aran/DK weight range, so fairly easy to replace with a yarn you love.
There are two versions of the hat/chart, because I saw two versions of The Rose’s logo and couldn’t pick one. I’m really happy with how the charts came out so I may make this again one day and adjust the colours honour of the Rose’s fanclub, the Black Rose.

Steps
Cast on 88 stitches in main colour and connect in the round, careful not to twist the stitches.
1. K2, p2 rib for approx. 2.5 cm (1 inch)
2. K1 round, placing markers for the space you want the rose to sit - I put it opposite the start of each round.
3. K, following the chart in the space designated for it
4. K for another 2.5 cm (1 inch)
5. Place 7 markers evenly around (11 stitches between each; 8 markers in total including the beginning of round marker)
6. Slip the marker, ssk, knit to the next marker. Repeat to end of round
7. K all stitches around
8. Repeat 6-7 until there are 8 stitches remaining. Cut the yarn leaving a long tail. Thread the tail onto a yarn needle and pass it through the remaining stitches. Pass it to the inside and bind off.
9. Sew beads in places marked in chart (optional)
