{Jason loudly sighs.} “You two just need to admit everything! It’s already so blindingly obvious… just confess!”

Janus mimics your sigh, rolling his eyes.

I don't know what you--

Patton kisses Janus. At first Janus is shocked, but eventually his eyes flutter closer and he pulls Patton closer, kissing back gently. The kiss is slow, and gentle, and full of so much meaning not even words could express.

Once Patton finally pulls away, he sits back, looking at the wall nervously.

Holy Mother of God--

I-I've been wanting to do that for a while...

Janus just sits in awe, relishing the memory. Eventually, he spurs forward, pinning Patton to the floor and kissing him again.

Uh! That must have hurt, sorry.

I'm Squishy! Squishy Sherburn! Nice to meet you, I came to this town just a few days ago!

Oh well it's nice to meet you, Ms Sherburn. Or Mr? I'm sorry I can't tell.

He stands up, rubbing his neck which is still notably bandaged.

“… yeah, Dad. Night.”

{Jason mutters, pushing down the urge to talk more. He knew he couldn’t sleep on his own, even if he was sixteen. He thought that made him weak, and it probably did. I mean… he wouldn’t sleep at ALL.}

{However, he does get ready. He takes off the binding—slightly disappointed that he had to do so in the first place—and got changed back into his regular clothes. He still hadn’t bothered to ask for sleepwear.}

You go to the room Patton had provided for you and find a pair of pjs laying on the pillow with a note.

"I noticed you didn't have any pjamas so I bought you some today while you were out. I hope I got your size right."

“I said I’m full.”

{Jason says more sternly, giving Janus a look that screamed ‘we can talk later’. And with that, he dumped his entire plate of food into the trash before hiding away… somewhere.}

Patton looks back as you leave the room and Janus sighs, rubbing his eyes.

What am I going to do with that kid?

{Jason doesn’t even start eating until Patton is done his silent prayer. His body is tense, his movements are stiff, and he’s hit with a wave of overwhelming guilt. Guilt for his questioning stance on his religion, guilt at seeing his dad’s face dim, guilt at not just agreeing. He keeps his eyes on his plate, maybe eating a bite or two, before placing his napkin over the rest.}

“… I’m full.”

{He gets up, trying to just… throw away his entire plate. The guilt was eating at him more than he could’ve imagined. At least the guilt was eating, since he certainly wasn’t.}

Janus raises an eyebrow.

Already? I don't think so. Sit down and eat.

Janus be polite--

...Please.

{Jason pauses.}

“… I’d rather not, for tonight. Is that alright, Dad..?”

Ah ok

He pulls his outstretched hand back, his smile dimming.

I'll just pray silently over here...

He closes his eyes as you two begin to eat awkwardly.

{Jason subconciously stayed closer to Patton, heading back to the awaiting dinner. He made a mental note to act more childish with Patton, just to make the older man feel like he was truly a father.}

“Y’know, I helped make most of it!”

Patton seems to have a slight skip in his step as he beams down at you.

Really? Well then I can't wait to try it!

You enter the kitchen, where Janus had set the table. Patton sits down across from Janus and you sit between both of them.

Now would you two like to join me for grace?

Oh no thank you, but perhaps Jason might.

{Jason hugs back, shocked at the affection.}

“… I’ll call you that from now on, I guess..? Careful, Dad, don’t crush me-“

Oh- right- sorry sorry...

He steps back, adjusting his glasses and smiling awkwardly.

A-anyway you said dinner? Let's go eat.
