Interesting concept. My father left shortly after I was born. Technically defective, but I've never harbored any negative feelings, as I was too young to even know it happened. My grandparents then raised me, as my mother did not have the ability to do so at that time. My grandfather then died in the 90s. Both of these losses of a father/grandfather were never big emotional issues for me. All groups are diverse, but having God as father figure surely attracts/keeps some in Christianity (not me).
